Does the world know you're playing Runescape?

Do you or don't you tell people openly about playing Rs?

When talking to another RS player in real life, do you keep quiet?

Would you even admit to one that you are playing Runescape?

Would you play in public places?

All questions to see wether you hide the fact that you're playing RS or not, as I'm quite interested to see what the major thought on this is :)

I started playing Runescape while I was in 7th grade, and at that time, it was pretty open. Most of my friends knew I played Runescape, especially because they played with me. Nowadays, I don't play as much, and most people don't really ever talk to me about Runescape anymore. If someone asked me, I guess I would tell them that I play sporadically now, but I don't really find it much of a topic to keep private.

I've only met one RS player in real life and no we haven't kept quiet, we've talked.

Yep I would admit I play RS, why wouldn't I?

Nope, I'm not getting keylogged.

With the keeping quiet, I'm not asking about wether you DO talk, it's wether you keep your volume lower than normal, or still talk like you would normally do.

I remember in High School, figured out who played Runescape, and that's mostly what we discussed about, quite openly, during breaks about the game. Now a days, I play Runescape in my dorm room while my friends are over, some of them used to play, most don't, but they all know about it, and it's just like knowing that I play other games, doesn't make that much of a difference to them.

I always would admit to playing RuneScape to my fellow peers. (Slightly different when younger kids learn that I play and ask me if I play)

I used to play in public places when I first started...quickly learned that was the fastest way to get hacked. So no more playing in the library.

In elementary school, I started playing it. But since that was my first time doing so, I used to play it a lot. :P But then, everyone in my class was playing it (including one grade below us). By the time we hit middle school, barely anyone that used to play even played it anymore. The ones who still played it (including me) hid, and still hide our status as playing RuneScape. A few of my friends don't play, and know that I do, but they're good enough friends not to care. It doesn't mean that I don't bug them about it sometimes. :P

But overall, quite a small amount of people know that I still play RuneScape, and I hope it stays that way. It's not it's something that I want being blasted on a megaphone, correct? :P

No

No, unless he talks about runescape, then I try and change the subject (I only know one person that plays).

Would you even admit to one that you are playing Runescape?

No

Would you play in public places?

No

I'm ashamed to admit that I play runescape but I'm not ashamed to admit my shameful behavior on this forum. It's pretty pathetic

I don't run around yelling "I play runescape" but if someone asks if I do I'd tell them it realy doesn't make a difference it's just another game.

I usually don't bring up the topic of runescape but if me and my friends start talking about it I might aswell talk too.

I would never play in a public place due to the fact I could get keylogged and hacked.

I don't know about others but at my school noone realy cares what you do as far as gaming goes. I mean just about everyone plays some sort of game and it realy doesn't make them different of a person than they were before. Althought I doubt anyone but my close friends remember that I play considering the whole school played it in the 6th grade.

Used to play at school and the library so yes. Don't really care about getting logged not like anything happens if I do.

I only admit to playing or talk about runescape if the other person also plays and if someone else starts the conversation first.

I really have no need to tell other people about it at school.

If someone directly asks me if I play (or if I am playing), I tell them yes. I don't advertise it though. I used ot know alot more people who played the game than I do now. Guess they all got bored with it and I never did.

As for playing in public places. Sort of. I bring my laptop to school because I use it to take notes (I go to a small school so that sort of thing flies. I would never dream of taking a laptop to a large public school). It also happens to be wireless. The grade 12 class (yes singular. Small school) has a lounge. I have been known to play RuneScape when I am imensely bored. It help that I can carry on a conversation with class mates while doing some trading or the circus, otherwise it would be completly anti-social. I wouldn't play in a really public place though. Actualy I disliike people even watching me use the computer. I find it creepy.

I only talk to people about the game if they play also, and I rarely (if ever) push the topic. I will gladly talk about the game, I just won't maintain the topic, thats the other persons job.

A kid came through my line at Target buying a Runescape time card. I asked him if he played FunOrb, he said yes. I told him I played as well but wasn't good at it, he suggested I go to Planet FunOrb, which apparently "has a few crappy guides on it, and some other stuff".

If someone asks me directly, I will answer truthfully and say yes. If I know the person well enough but they don't know I do, it may pop up in casual conversation and surprise them. I also like to talk about it with my friends who play WoW, just because its something to compare. My Bandos sweatshirt describes stance on this, I will tell but you can't know without inquiring.

No, I don't tell people but if I know somebody plays I will talk with them about it. I had a few friends who played back in junior high and we talked about it a lot but now I don't even mention it irl.

Yeah why not? Though I don't play anymore so I can't keep up to date with the new updates, but I can generally talk about RuneScape.

I would never tell someone I play runescape, ever. Although I do sometimes try and say things that someone who does play might pick up on. I do know someone at my school who plays though. We talk in a lower then normal tone when the topic turns to runescape.

I only let select friends know I play. Definitely not my school friends because a majority of them play WoW.

I don't keep quiet while talking to another RS player in real life.

I have admitted to people that I play, it's not a drug addiction.

Yes, I would.

Me and my friend make runescape references aloud. Like for example we went to see the new Wolverine movie we learned that the material Wolverine's claws were made of is called Adamantium and he just said "Rune claws are way better at least they have a spec."

Adamantium=Adamantite

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

No reason why I would hide playing a game. All of my friends know/knew about me playing.

My room mate currently is my first ever Runescape friend (from 8 years ago!), which is pretty entertaining when she gets in from work.
