Or what ? Obviously I'm not privileged as to the inner workings of tip.it but three admins have recently retired/stepped down and it seems logical that these promotions would be to replace them. All who show true dedication to the site and clearly deserve the role of administrator, usually get the position regardless of timing/etc. But when other admins leave, that's usually when the current admins purposely look for people who could fill their roles ;) So even if no admins had stepped down recently, I'm sure that both Darkdude and n_odie would have been made administrators eventually, if not now.
