Greatest Underrated Games

Featured Replies

Well with the publicity that some games get, it's inevitable that some great titles will fall through the cracks. So post your greatest underrated games!

For me, it would have to be Secret Weapons Over Normandy. While it never really got much attention and is historically inaccurate, it still holds the one feature it really needs. It's just FUN.

Demigod.

It got such a bad press at release due to pirates being able to play online, crashing the servers etc. But now that it's fixed, it's an amazing game. I've only tried one class properly, and I'm still trying out new tactics, builds, items, etc(22 hours in total, spent on one class). The replayability is amazing, though if you get a crap team... It sucks... Bad. xD

Cant think of any more recent releases off the top of my head.

Monster Hunter (the original on PS2), Project Snowblind and Wacky Races.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

Shadowrun, Second Sight, Psychonauts.

I assume with shadowrun you're talking about the FPS and not the old RPG right :P.

I have to say that Trine doesn't seem to be getting much press for as awesome of a game it was. At least the dudes at Giant bomb gave it 5 stars. :)

Some game I can't 100% remember. Its about a robot named glitch and he has to save the world or something.

Glitch in the system? I forgot. But its really under-rated

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Shadowrun, Second Sight, Psychonauts.

Oh man, Shadowrun and Psychonauts. Those games were so awesome.

You're mostly right - "Metal Arms: Glitch In The System". I freaking loved that game.

Yes I'm talking about the FPS, I don't play old board games XD.

Shaq Fu. Everyone hates that game. I LOVE IT

Also, Rampage. Your these monsters climbing buildings and you have to outrun the military.

I was going to buy Psychonauts, but the closest one was in a Gamestop in a town miles away :( So I settled with FFXII.

Can't think of any underrated games I own though.

Destroy All Humans, would that count as underrated? I really never hear it talked about anywhere. Great, fun game!

It was great, and it had even better sequels, but the critics tore apart the new one because they complained that the storyline was too ridiculous. It's a freaking comedic storyline and it always has been, why are they complaining now? Because of them there probably won't be a 4th.

And beat the living [cabbage] out of the buildings and anything in sight! That game was pretty cool! ::'

That reminds me of Monster Wars or something? You were these huge titan like things that beat the [cabbage] out of each other, threw cars, pylons and pretty much anything you could find at each other and a city or some other kind of environment (which was destroyable) would be the arena. 8-)

Isn't Path of the Furon on it's way?

And Big Willies Escape was kinda wierd, I didn't get into it much. But 1 & 2 were great.

Nope Path of the Furon has been out for a while. Thats the one I meant when I said "the new one". I consider it number 3, since Big Willy wasn't really part of the series.

I loved that game as well. I still play its multiplayer sometimes. I wish it would get a sequel.

I think I know what monster game you're talking about.... Is it available on the PS2? Maybe I'm not thinking the same one, but that reminded me of "War of the Monsters". Fun, fun game.

Star Wars Episode III: The Game. Would that count as underrated?

My friend and I played the crap out of it and we probably played the last level countless times because it's so awesome.

Wolfenstein: Enemy territory, best god damn GAME EVER.

Big Willy does not exist. period. I loved Destroy All Humans! and got 100% on the first two, but have not played the 3rd. The sexual innuendo in #2 is awesome, and does it just right so it doesn't go overboard. But what was really great, was that even brand new at release date I bought #2 for only $20.

Can Psychonauts really be considered underrated nowadays? Sure it didn't sell well at first, but now everybody and their dong knows it, plays it, and loves it.

My vote goes for Stubbs the Zombie. It was great, but I never saw a single copy in stores and only one person I know actually knows and has played the game, and he's the guy who showed it to me in the first place. Rampage was great, too, I had it on the Gameboy, I loved that Ralph wolf guy.

I have Stubbs too \'

Another one I have to point out is Jaws Unleashed. Was incredibly fun, you can look it up on IGN.

Yeah, having some guy be your slave because you've got like 3 rivets lodged in his skull ready to explode was win. And the Tether Gun was really fun to use.

Games I'd consider underrated... Beyond Good and Evil, definitely, and Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy.

Both were awesome games, and in Psi-Ops you could crush people with wrecking balls. What more could you want?

sleep like dead men

wake up like dead men

I've always found Banjo Kazooie and Tooie to be underrated. Most people I know that have played it loved it, but you don't hear it mentioned often in game discussions. Same goes for Conker's Bad Fur Day. Incredibly funny game.

Also, I spent a good 4-5 hours on the Banjo Kazzoie: N&B demo. It was incredibly fun to just [bleep] around and make new vehicles. I gotta get that game...

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.
