I agree 100% with what Dave has been posting. The underlying cause of Aboriginals not wanting jobs is because they hate Western culture. No matter how much anybody will try helping them integrate into society, parents will still tell their children how their ancestors were killed and robbed by white men.

 

 

 

As for the 200 year get-over-it period: My grandfather and his neighbour had a huge fight back in the early 1900s. The neighbours son later became a judge and started picking on my dad for stupid reasons. One day they all made up, yet my brother and I still avoid the neighbours grandchildren when we visit, and I'm sure my children will avoid their children after I tell them the story. It's stupid, and hard to solve.

I think that's the same exact mentality that's holding us back. Racism isn't nearly as bad as it was in the past. Governments were fine with torturing and killing groups of people just off the basis of one's skin color, religion, etc. In fact, they even participated themselves. Racism is still a prevalent issue but on a lesser scale. We have made steps forward, so why can't we continue?

Think about it... the biggest one is obviously currency, sure it has helped us progress (into this hell-hole), but who decided to impliment currency? There surely wasn't a VOTE (another flawed aspect of our society) Why do we need the promise of monitary gain to be motivated? Why can't we be spiritually sustained just by helping one another? Why is there always a price? Rules that everyone blindly follows... It's how our society works. If these rules are challanged WE FALL APART. Why?

 

 

 

Just go with the flow, we get what we deserve - there's nothing that can change this vicious cycle.

The beauty of it all is that society isn't some stagnant rock that will never change. It is constantly changing, and each and every one of us can have an effect on it (probably not as much as we'd like to have, but it's still there). If you see something you don't like in the world, you can always do your best to change it and it might work out. If it never worked, then money or voting wouldn't be here in the first place. Someone down the line thought it would be a good idea to implement democracies and currencies so they acted on it and now we are here today - in a society with voting and money. We are what perpetuates society.

People want power, money is used to represent power. The more money you have the more power you will have. Multi-billionaire has a company, people want some laws changed, it will make the billionaire's company suffer greatly. He could pay some politicians a sum of money to vote against these changes. The billionaire then can continue the way he did before and makes that money back. The man who owns the stores of Trei Gahappi's gunsmiths decides he wants guns to be legal in the state of Beu Lett, he pulls stings and greases palms so the majority of politicians vote for the law. I'll give you the English [which included the French and German at the time] weren't as bad as the Spanish, who essentially ransacked a country and decimated it's population [disease and civil war being a few causes]. But the Britishers did colonize it -- which doesn't mean anything at all. It was an imperialistic chokehold on the country's people, culture, and resources. Most of the time the English were nothing better than theives and genocidal maniacs. Unless of course the people they were going to kill could be "employed" in the cotton plantations. Over time it leeched today's billions from those countries preventing them from prospering. Do you know how many tonnes of precious metals the English stole, just from India ?

I'll give you that. But white people and unemployment usually dont go with kids or a family living with them at the time, so they dont screw up many other peoples lives like some aboriginals.

To be honest, the government shouldnt give such money to anyone who is unemployed. Everyone is capable of getting a job except for mentally ill people who usually have someone looking after them and paying their expenses.

 

But if the government wants to give money out to unemployed people, why exactly do aboriginals get more? Not to mention there are numerous other benefits aboriginal people get over white people. But they would technically have a harder time getting jobs because a lot of people are conscious about having "black people in the workplace" and whatnot. But that doesnt mean they are looking for jobs that much.

 

 

 

Sure, I do know some aboriginal people who arent trying to screw up their lives and some of them really want to do well by the looks of it, but the majority of aboriginals I know and most likely are in australia dont really care for whatever reason.

 

 

 

Some things piss me off like only having to make a couple of house payments and then it's theirs or a couple of payments on a brand new 4-wheel drive and it belongs to them. But at the same time like Zierro said Aboriginals are less likely to be employed (though there is higher unemployment rate in white people - there are more white people who sit on their [wagon] and do nothing but there are more of us). so I guess that would be helpful to the aboriginal people who actually want to work and support their family. What gets to me is the one's who have a brand new house and then dig up their floor boards to make fire wood in their living room. If you didn't want a house why don't you give it to a family who need it and go bugger off in the bush somewhere? I'd say that about a white person too if they did such an idiotic thing.

I see you're saying violence is the result of anger, anger is a human emotion, but it is immature to express anger through violence, humans are taught to be immature based on how they see others act.

In Australia, if you dont work you get an allowance from the government. For some reason, Aboriginals get a better allowance, have a longer time to be unemployed, and generally are baby-fed by our government. They dont even try to get off their [wagon] and get a job or make money, why? The government does it for them.
