Is there any non-expensive way to train Prayer?

Featured Replies

I don't care about xp as long as it's over 10K an hour.

An easy way is to play pest control.

Kill dragons and then use the ectofuncus for experience.

Only do this if you like pest control ... saying easy and pc in the same sentence makes a person who hates pest control's head spin x.x

prayer is only cheap if you collect every single bone yourself, but in the time you spend collecting them you coulda made enough money to buy all and use a gilded altar.

tl;dr:buy and sacrifice

edit: looking at yous stats, thats probably gonna be hard. but meh. prayer isnt meant to be an easy skill

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

For some reason, I didn't think of this.

Come to think of it, this would be the best way \'

So what are the best dragons to kill?

Green dragons in wilderness or baby blue dragons in taverly dungeon.

If you kill green dragons you can also collect the hides and then sell them for more bones, but for camping baby blue drags would be easier.

Is killing ghasts a good idea, or no?

I would say No. You need to have finished or started Nature Spirit and only the High Level Ghasts (such as 110-140) are worth killing. Even then they don't give you too much experience for the trouble.

If you want a cheap way of levelling prayer. Kill Dragons, Collect bones, Use on Gilded Altar for great, cheap experience.

That depends, whether you have a pc clan/current pray level, equipment, but rest assured you will earn money equal to your combat level*10 everytime you win a game, so you wont lose a penny.

Staurolite.png

Ranging Zogres for the coffin keys isnt bad either, thats only really if you dont have the stats to efficiently do dragons though.

surprised nobody mentioned quests. there are quests that give decent prayer xp and by the looks of it you haven't done too many of them.

Disregard females.

Ehh, I can just buy my way to 70 Prayer if I sell my full Guthans. Is that a better option?

Oh and I've got 197 Quest Points, I just don't bother updating my sig.

MstrMonopoly.png

I piety the fool.

Gonna hop on the bandwagon and recommend gathering bones yourself.

If you kill green dragons, you get hides as well, which make you a nice profit, as well.

NEVER, EVER, EVER USE ECTOFUNTUS.

Its slow and not efficient at all, basically, its hugely outdated.

And in response to your new question:

Sell the guthans, but get 68 summoning before you bother getting 70 prayer.

2Xeo5.png

Something a lot of people forget is killing Ghasts.

You get 30 prayer xp per kill, which isn't a whole lot. But you can kill quite a lot of them, since they are so weak.

I have no idea if this is a viable method or not. I've never tried it. It's always been Gilded altar w/ d bones for me, maybe the occasional wyvern bone. However, I'd say it's worth a least a shot. You never know. Many of the "secret" training places that we all now know (such as Skeleton Monkeys, Armored Zombies, and Bandits) were the result of people thinking outside the box and exploring every dusty corner. Why not give this a try?

I'm at Chaos Tunnels. Is it better for me to pick up only the bones or pick up both, assuming I only care about prayer and not money.

Why in the world would you leave 2.5k on the floor, if you're getting that every kill?

2Xeo5.png

Pick up the hides and good herbs dude, bury the bones until you get a full inven, bank then go back and bury/collect.

disturbeda.png

Umm, sorry to burst the bubble here....but.....

Gathering your own bones does not make the skill cheap. If you gathered your bones, lets say 5m worth. You would be losing the 5m you could have earned if you sold it. So either way, you're still losing money by ectoing, or whatever, those bones.

You could train prayer by genie lamps, penguins, and my personal favorite...the WGS reward at the cost of not using those for another skill.

I've never seen Sixth Sense nor Inception nor many other popular movies and I intend to keep it that way.
