Icuownage, you could just say that there was a large planet constantly shielding your races home from the sun, causing them to become translucent and adapt to colder temperatures. You'll need to pick a system to start on as well. Choose any of the systems from the first post that do not already have somebody in, and have at least one Earthlike planet for you to start on.

By the way, the scale is a little screwed up, but from now on I'm just going 1 lightyear = 40 pixels

 

Also, Icuownage, that sounds alright to me. Take Ekedou I though, since Ekedou II is a major arctic, and basically no biological life can life there.

You can now rename any planets which are [system name] I, II, III, IV etc.

To make it easier on Doom, every two/three days, one of us should PM an edited system list to her so that the first post gets updated at a regular interval, and there isn't so much pressure.

Hex in answer to your question I put close to 100 billion a year over a 15 year time-frame on it after having large nuclear (reactor) knowledge to begin with.

I'm sending my default ship to the Astrum system or whatever it's called to send the technology and Gilgamesh blueprints. The Orbital rail cannons are obviously to big to transport, so they are blueprinted as well. Does blueprints cut down research time or give you the complete thing?

It's been a week since I first launched my ship, so I guess the population of my colony on Zhoreuc is now about 10,000. The island they've landed on has been found to be great for agriculture, and has been renamed Mei Wan (美灣), or "Beautiful bay" if you're not learned in the Chinese language.

My second ship is basically done. It can fire guns and stuff. Nothing too advanced, not really any new technology. (for the thread, of course it's new for me) It can carry people too, though only 3000. Travels quickly, just a bit slower than my first ship. Nothing overpowered, I don't think. A simple battleship that can move quicker than average is all it is.

I'm building more colonizers now (like the first ship I built, carries 7500 people) .

The genetic research I started a week ago is half done.

I'll calculate statistics later. I think the last time I did it was during the final conversion, and it was really stupid of me not to save that. A quick estimate makes me want to say I have about 100 million people, with an average GDP per capita of 50K. Reasonable? (Considering ross said Hex's - at least I think it was Hex's - GDP per capita should be about 38K, and hopefully my people are better off than Hex's...)
