Ah yes, I see my mistake I went e10 rather than e16.

Well fine the generators are whatever fraction of a percentage efficient they need to be correct.... probably somewhere in the region of 0.00025.

Also Joules is already in Watts per second so you can't have Joules per minute...(I think I screwed that one up first though)

Shall we just screw math and say:

Quark Fusion Generators convert 500 grams of matter into 11.25 Giga Watts.

A Laser which can cut though steel plate at a rate of 2 inches per second is 1.5 KW and thus running 1500 1.5KW lasers with a generator that produces 11.25 GW is fine because 11.25 GW is equal to 11,125 KW. Thus I can fire a full burst, without battery support, 5 times a minute. With battery support (1 TW-given the output of the generator and the Strange matter Battery I think it is reasonable.) it can fire numerous times, approximately 5000, so at 1 per 3 seconds that is 15,000 seconds, which is 250 minutes worth, which is 4 and a bit hours. Supplemented by a working generator it is probably about 16 hours. However I doubt the ship would be using its full complement continually for 16 hours, it would mean destroying 57,600 missiles over the course of 16 hours.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

My head hurts.

You people do rediculous amounts of math just to prove a theory in a fictional game, lol.

So we're back on on Thurs? Alright, but I'm gonna be mighty bored until then...

To prevent epic boredom after Thursday I will run a Saturday morning round(if I have time, otherwise it will be a Saturday evening round) And a Monday evening round. So basically two 48 hour(Thursday to Saturday and Saturday to Monday) rounds instead of 24 hour rounds.

The day-year cycle continues normally for the period though.... Basically both sides are advised that the war has got too bloody to continue at its normal rate and so has slowed down a little.

If anything goes horribly wrong(Ie I get no sleep and so sleep though monday/saturday) then I will make it up when I can.

If anything goes seriously wrong(Ie die in a car crash) then I don't think I will be able to make it up to you and if I have not posted by Wednesday finding another war judge might be a good idea(He says slightly paranoid) =P

So is the entire game on pause still?

Dude, Archi. I love what your doing for the thread in terms of comprehensiveness, but you're killing yourself over a fictional online game. I'm not gonna be upset if you take a nap instead of keeping track of all us playing a game. Take care of yourself, it's important. I can deal with boredom. It's hard to deal with a lack of sleep.

I agree. Don't spend all of your time on this thread. It'll seriously [bleep] up your scores and mind.

Also it is just realism, it doesn't matter how long I have been in the game, any more than it matters how long Retech has been in the game when he declares a massive reproduction rate. Furthermore, since I am the war judge I do not expect to be attacked and I do not expect to do any attacking.

Just want to note the realism for a 20% reproductive rate. The reason humans don't reproduce that much is simple: 2 people can only make... say 5 or 6 babies before the womb becomes scarred and makes it dangerous to give further birth. Coupled with gestation period and overcrowding, we end up with 8% (in some parts of the world).

Now, compare that to Lichtes anatomy. It is a cross between a mammal and a fish. It doesn't really lay eggs, but just a bunch of live spawn. This is far less damaging to the body. In normal conditions, less than one spawn survive every year, but due to increased technology, around 1 survives a year.

Now keep in mind human governments have been attempting to control the birth rate to prevent overpopulation, but for the Lichtes government, that is not the case. Since it is such a warlike species, it requires a large population growth simply to stay in the positive. (In fact, the population has been declining on the homeworld due to the fact they were being slaughtered on Earth.)

That's realism at its best, and special "fusion" technology has nothing to do with it. :P

Also, I can't wait till the next round ends.

Pf Germania has a 40%+ growth rate.

Is there actually a limit for population growth? As goa'uld queens can give birth to over a hundred symbiote spawn each month, however gueens are rare(I probably command ten queens out of my two hundred goa'ulds).

"Thinks about a five thousand percent growth rate on goa'ulds" =P~

And why can't we continue population increase, building, etc. in the time-pockets aggressive moves are prohibited? I just can't think of any way that can be logical to pause.

Well, it would mean people would have time to prepare their stuff, and it just wouldn't really work.

I think its better that we leave it paused entirely.

I though Germanian reproduction rates were lowered since it was getting sort of crazy?

If not, I guess it means I can use a growth rate which would be more logical considering all that's needed to create my citizens is a computer program and a machine to build bodies.

So, more like 30%. Yeah.

Also, Mather, if your Goaulds are like the millionaires of your race and you create more of them, isn't that technically hurting the economy instead of helping it?

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Ok game is un-paused for tomorrow's round then will be locked (after the report) until monday/tuesday. Regards to me killing myself though overwork, thanks for your concern and I shall try not to work too hard in the future =P

No, since they are kinda like kings and other leaders, they earn their own money through trade, mining, production, mints, etc. and pay part of it(10%) to me. Scientist goa'ulds, jaffa and humans again get paid by them.

And Archi why do you have to lock the game completly, in my opinion disabeling us from working on our empires at most times is ruining this game.

But if we don't pause the game, people get an oppurtunity to dig themselves in and prepare, which is even less realistic.

I would like non-military operations not related with Earth (such as population management of colonies) and so forth be allowed to be continued. It has no military relavance what so ever, yet it can occupy my time. As for Mather, he could continue working on economic upgrades (like agriculture or whatnot) and we could just suspend military training. Simple as that. :)

Erm, Retech, with your basic ship building tech and resources, how did you manage to build 20 warships in like 2-3 years?

Ah well, it doesn't matter anyway. I think I still have around 7 Heavy Battleships in Sol, so I'll still try to shoot at your stuff. Sending troops on a suicide mission doesn't sound like a good tactic to me.

2Xeo5.png

It's using old technology in a new application. It's rather sensible. I have the warp technology, I have the weapons technology, and I have a vast supply of chemicals (as it is the specialty of aquatic planets). Just need some female engineers using their species ability to put stuff together. It's far more efficient if you don't have to refer to a blueprint constantly.

Ross the question is why you would produce more people....Since they are machines they are just going to stop you producing other stuff.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Because his people are all soldiers. <_<

You can do that? I'm the one with the excessively warlike political race here. :)

Once a civil war gets started, only a political victory can end it. Otherwise, as soon as people get armed and equipped, they go off to fight. The only reason half the populace is not soldiers is because they are wimpy for their species (still strong though), so they aren't "worthy" to fight. Instead they labor in the chemical wells.

Ross likes to heap massive advantages onto his people though.

Well, the civilian models would have some combat equipment, but it's mostly just construction purpose stuff.

Actually, Archi does bring up a very good point. If almost all of my stuff is done by machines anyway, then having a huge population is sort of stupid.

I guess I'll drop my growth rate to 1%, which will allow me to produce more surface defenses and normal soldiers.

Just thought of something: Income. It stays at 10%.

I think I'll still work on some surface based weaponry though.

EDIT: (Late response, but oh well) Well, Retech, I think your ships would just be a regular battleship, and as it stands, it takes 10 Battleships to equal one heavy battleship, so the 20 ship escort still wont really help you all that much.
