I will turn this country into a proper communism, where people aren't starving all the goddamn time.

:wall:

You don't know the first thing about Communism if you plan to feed your people and treat them well. :)

You're an idiot. Don't you see that he's snowball?

Moving on.

Japan's sea based wall is nearly completion, over 80% has been completed and the seas surrounding Japan are much calmer now. This has also boosted our fishing industry, which has seen a 5% increase since the walls construction began. Plans to create the floating cities are being formated, and we hope to begin construction within one year.

Around 20% of Japan's forests have been cleared, 8% of which has been replanted with Verde Soylante, and another 2% of which now has housing on.

Unemployment numbers less than 100,000 now, with active military personnel reaching over 500,000 for the first time in a few decades. With 300,000 new recruits, 80,000 of these are still in their first year of training, 100,000 are starting their second, and 120,000 have completed their training.

Around 600 of these are exceptional and have been drafted somewhere else.

Having worked on Nuclear power quite closely, Japanese scientists have drawn up blueprints for four Nuclear submarines. They are all expected to be completed within two years. Japan's first aircraft carrier is also nearing completion, having been modified from our Hy?ga class "helicopter destroyers" (somewhat a light aircraft carrier)

Our military has 179 fixed-wing aircraft and 135 helicopters, but most of these are for use in anti-submarine or mine warfare. Plans for additional aircraft are being discussed within the MoD.

Research into the Verde Soylante has progressed nicely, and it's genetic structure has been distributed to members of the IAC and Israel providing they do not release the contents of it's code for one full year. If they break this deal, Japan will cut all deals with them. We're also working with a strain of the plant that appears to consume more carbon dioxide than the majority of plans. More news on that as we discover it.

With more solar panels being distributed, solar energy now takes up a whopping 20% of our total power. Of the other 80%, 8% is Wind Energy, 20% from coal, 14% Natural gas, 25% Nuclear and only 13% petroleum.

Tokyo recently celebrated "We love the Overlord day". (Geddit?)

Since it seems as though nobody wants to discuss boring old rules anymore, here is what your Leader has decided of the new laws (most taken from Roccodog25, since hardly anyone contributed):

-Play realistically within the 1 day = 1 year ratio

-No nukes whatsoever

-You can make or join an alliance, but your alliances rules only apply for the members in your alliance.

-No extreme acts of war without retort. The country receiving the blow must retaliate.

-Your troop number cannot exceed your population. Your population must also be sensible and take the size of the land you own into consideration (I will not accept new countries having populations of 1 billion.)

-You may as of now expand your nations. However, taking over a country will take ATLEAST 3 days (if it is unpopulated) and potentially weeks if the other player retorts.

-Take into account troop movement time. Even though airplanes and cars exist it still takes awhile to GET to a country, which a lot of people have ignored.

-Crazy scientific advancements are to be shared with the entire world. Nobody has to right to discover energy-efficient cars and manufacture them exclusively.

-If a player quits or becomes inactive, his country disappears. I know many will oppose this law, but I assure you it is the best way.

-If a new player wishes to join, he has full right to take the country of his choice as long as nobody already chose it as their 'capital'. That means that even though you only have 2 countries and your 2nd is equally important as the one you chose, you'd still have to concede him your country (but he still cannot take the one you initially chose).

I'm glad I was able to set these laws for you guys before I unleash my new experiment on the world. I am tired of all these military alliances and treaties, which is why I resuscitated dinosaurs using fossil DNA. The range of my army is large, and many will crumble under their powerful bodies. I... what the hell? What are they doing so close to my mansion?

..

..

OH [cabbage]! It looks like my time is limited on this planet, guys. Before this T-Rex finds me and bites my head off, I will immediately bring down my DeathRay satellites and crash them into Hawaii. I do not want these dinosaurs to be under anyone else's power, so I will make sure this forsaken island is permanently destro--...*gushing of blood*

Can I still use nukes as an energy source? North Korea has a few hundred useless warheads lying around.

Anyway, I've begun separating minerals from the mining. I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I can start building anything with steel.

A new form of illicit drug is being manufactured and mixed with other compounds which has drastically increased drug-related crimes, muders and suicides. Australia's scientists are unable to isolate this new drug and is calling for help from other countries to help isolate this drug and find a way of negating the effects of it. We estimate it will take a year at best to isolate it, and another 4 or 5 to find a way to negate the effects of it.

Yes.

You cannot be serious. What's the point in even trying to get ahead when this rule, coupled with army cannot be bigger than population, in any war of attrition the smaller countries are doomed? History teaches us the most advanced civilizations come out stronger - why are we trying to play some fairplay game? The world isn't fair.

Also, wtf, dinosaurs? Seriously.

Diamond Cutting business is going on schedule while receiving diamonds from Luxembourg.

The bicycle program is going along nicely and high schoolers are working harder grade wise to get these bikes. Students are loving the opportunity to do exercise while help their countries not spend so much for gasoline.

Speaking of gasoline, our biofuel is coming close to almost be done. People are working the clock to have cars to accept this fuel still. The amount of sugar beets are still going at a high rate, but scientist are working on trying to have bigger fields for sugar beets to maintain the amount of fuel that Israel and Lebanon are going to need.

Almost all hot water is obtain by solar energy!

Our Nuclear powered submarine is close to build. If all goes well, Israel and Lebanon is considering building more to put our diesel powered submarines to rest. We want to be cleaner!

I've receive the recipe for the seeds. Production will now commence!

Finland's energy is now supplied by 80% nuclear power, 10% hydroelectric, and 10% coal.

We are in need of uranium for making the nuclear power, and would like to start a long lasting trade relationship with any country. We are willing to export timber, gold, silver, oil, fish, or grains.

If we don't get anymore uranium for the next 2 years, most of Finland will be out of power.

Canada and Australia: I will offer a peace agreement if you wish to sell my country uranium (not weapon-grade of course).

The first class of trained army specialist have graduated, in about 5 more years we will have many units of highly trained soldiers, which will only attack if provoked.

Finland scientists have obtained blueprints for nuclear submarines, although these won't be in development for several years.

Finland has also turned out 3 new military jets that were in secret manufacturing.

We have also begun another secret military project.

If someone attempts to take Svalbard without Norway's permission, Finland will jump in to fight.

If you're still looking for an island, try picking a small pacific one, such as Vanuatu.

Here's my future plan for North Korea: Over the next few years (5-10 days) I'll be creating a large... large hadron collider of sorts to create an unlimited source of energy: anti-matter.

North Korea will be a country almost exclusively dedicated to supplying the world with energy.

Whether or not this will be free or if I'll charge for it is not clear yet. But prepare for unlimited energy in about 2 weeks nevertheless.

Venezuela continues to invest in hydropower. The first new generator is being built. If all goes well, more will follow.

Verde soylante is a big success as a crop. We now have enough to export.

We should make a no-antimatter law too. Antimatter is much worse than nukes.

How can he when he's dead?

Here's how it works.

Our estemed Hegemon died, in an accident with some T-Rex, and he brought down his deathray lasers to kill the dinosaurs. (Stupid idea, since when can a gun not kill an animal?)

Anyway, without him here, it's up to the nations of the world to enforce laws.

How are you going to do that when the bastard looking at your country evily has nukes and anti-matter?

EDIT: Latios, are you interested in joining the IAC? We're the Asian superpower, currently consisting of China, Russia and Japan (myself). We support each other with techs, and in the event of a war I'm fairly sure the plan is to stick together. Japanese labour could help construct the LHC!

Sweden now has cars with hydrogen fuel cells avaliable to buy in most cities and in 5 years they will become the norm and gas powered cars will be recycled.

The timber and mining industries are on the rise with more jobs opening up. The general population has become happier with going on trips to poor countries and aiding the needy.

Also with more hydroelectric dams bieng built hydro electricity now supplies 25% of Sweden's power as apposed to 15%. The government has also decided not to outlaw the use of nuclear power at least until the energy can be replaced by more dams.

Sweden also has an excess of iron ore, uranium, sulphide, coniferous wood, and many softwoods. It is trading these for money to fund dams/underwater wheels or parts for them. We also have a lot of chickens and none of them have disease so the U.S. might want to buy them for some more Chicken McNuggets to fatten their children with.

Iran would like to sell minerals, but nobody wants to buy any.

Anyway, my first nuclear power plant is not online, and the second reactor is currently being built. I am looking to use some surplus power for military experimentation.

I am also looking at more efficient methods of transport. Would Sweden be interested in allowing me to buy Hydrogen cells until I can begin manufacturing my own?

I would like to request some kind of Alliance with Japan, because I feel that working together, we can help find more efficient ways to create energy (And I know that Japan is very advanced in that sector)(Also, they have Nintendo and Sony, and the leader of Iran loves his video games  ).

Mage, I am sure there are plenty of islands out there that are just off the coasts of some other country, why not try to purchase one?

Speaking of which, I would like to move my troops to occupy the Faroe Islands (Alternatively, I would like to purchase them)

I have chosen the Faroe Islands because they are basically in the middle of the sea, and if something disasterous were to happen on them, it wouldn't really affect the rest of the world.

One again, if anybody would like to buy any of the following, just state your offer:

Silica, Uranium, Strontium, Gold, Copper, Aliminuim, Iron, Zinc and Lead

Willing to sell copper at cheap prices, due to abundance, at $1.42 per pound.

Ok, sub-saharan Africa is the unclaimed zone.

And to the Argentinians, how do you have aircraft carriers? Each takes atleast a year to build, and Argentina had no aircraft carriers before this game. Also, destroyers have pretty much been declared useless. Almost all modern navies have ditched them. The US currently has no destroyers, for example.

When Lent controlled Argentina, he was doubling and then tripling the navy. After the coup, we still used them. Not all of it of course, some ships were lost or purposely sunk by the loyalists; such as our submarines have been damaged and are being repaired as we speak.

The battleships are used to patrol and engage pirates south of Tierra del Feugo and off our coasts. Better than nothing though, right? At least until we build up our navy.

So roughly 7 months have gone by from the start of the recovery of Argentina. Exports have increased from 30% (in relations to imports) to 38%. Several natural gas mines are being built and will be ready in a few years. Our mass natural gas reserves will bring us wealth when we begin to export it.

Argentina's small nuclear research and nuclear power is starting to grow. I wish to acquire nuclear power to rely less on oil, coal (one of the worlds largest users), and natural gas.

Argentina's one of the highest countries with crime. Our police are being upgraded and maintain a stricter control and surveillance. Jail sentencing are harsher, strict, and more merciless.

Due to Israel's attempts to obtain nuclear weaponry I impose a ban on all non-trade ships in international waters until we can agree on a way to destroy the nukes safely. If Israel does not comply with these agreements I shall refuse to trade anything with Israel, I urge others to do the same too.

I am willing to trade Uranium with Ross in exchange for copper. Hedgehog I will happily sell you Uranium in exchange for timber and grain. Due to other countries reducing deoendancy on fossil fuels I will now be exporting coal for cheaper.

Is any country willing to isolate this mysterious drug we have found in various food-stuffs? I will happily allow you to use test the drugs for beneficial uses, once you can provide us with another drug which can counteract the mysterious drug.

Fair enough nick.

Also, OP was talking about troop movements. Think of it this way, if you're taking a plane, consider it to be pretty much instant as each day is 8 minutes. So at most, a flight should take 6 minutes real time. For moving troops by sea, it could take up to an hour and a half to two hours real time.

Ok, in Brazilian news our remaining aircraft carrier has been completed, along with the 4 other nuclear submarines. 12 cargo ships have been loaded with solar panels, and fuel cells. All of our amphibious ships have been filled with ground troops and equipment, taking approximately 55,000 active soldiers from the army. They are now en route to Angola, where negotiations with their government are near completion, and their leaders are expected to hand over control of the country to us shortly.

This does not go against the rules, I've been working on this country diplomatically for the last 3 days if you look back.

I'll post more on brazil later, but the basics are that we've increased space program funding by over 15 times thanks to a vote earlier this year. Our urban redistribution project is going well, to move people out of inner cities and either out into newly built suburbs or the country. Over 15 million citizens have volunteers for that.

Finally, we've started production on apache helicopters, with a few improvements of our own, now that we have the schematics.

Once again, I'll post more later but I have to go.

Also, as a gesture of goodwill, I shall send some of my scientists over to help tackle the drug problem.

My second nuclear reactor is now undergoing testing.

My occupation of the Faroe islands will be completed by 12:00 PM GMT. If anybody has any objections, state them now.
