I'm trying to figure out if they did in fact nerf the drops, or if I'm just having a spell of bad luck. udontnojak55 Posted August 7, 2009 Author Share Posted August 7, 2009 I'm not going to the argue with me having bad luck (best drop in 4 thats right FOUR years is a black mask), but I'm not the only one. I have a friend who has done 9 abby demon tasks and no whip, as for me 2 gargoyle tasks (124 and 146) with no maul, also when black masks peaked at 1m, i spent close to 8 hours down there with nothing, Before i used to be able to average a mask a day (still not sure how that worked out). Back when I first started ranging too long ago, I spent most of my time at Cave Horrors. I was pretty excited for the drops of black masks. i could spend an hour there and get 2 mask drops, come back the next day, be there for 8 hours and and get none. I could also go there spend maybe 2 hours every day and get a mask drop, The same kind of trend continued for some time up until recently, where i have been going for days with no mask drop. Toad Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 They wouldn't have nerfed it, most likely just "bad luck" although it'll pick up, people have those days they have a streak of good luck. Try not to think of mauls on gargoyles, whips on abyssal demons, you'll find not only the tasks go quicker but when you do get one it won't feel as bad as counting the monsters you've killed. Dragonlordjl Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 There was a long thread on the RSOF about this where Mod Emilee checked and double-checked with the mod responsible for launching updates, and she reported that their drops haven't been nerfed. If you flip a coin 10,000 times, there may be period where you flip 12 heads in a row or 20 tails in a row. It doesn't mean your coin is damaged. To further support the claim "it's all in your mind," Zarfot posted on that thread I mentioned and said that he logged every abyssal demon kill he did over the course of 85-99 slayer, and his numbers came up to around 1/446, which is what most people estimate the whip rarity to be. I mean sheesh jsut suck it up, I've been playing my account for a gd 5 or 6 years now. Eg KQ, KBD, Metal Dragons, GWD Bosses etc. The only few I can't do are the high end slayer ones such as gargoyles or abby demons.
