What movie(s) did you last see?

Featured Replies

So an annoying protagonist makes a movie bad?

If he is Iron Man, the highly respected super hero, then yes. And it doesn't just end at being annoying.

Then you obviously haven't seen very many movies.

I have.

Ahh yes, I forgot how rare truly meaningless movies were today in Hollywood's arsenal.

So if it shares a common element with common movies, that is somehow a good thing?

Snakes on a plane: Entire movie based on Samula Jackson sporadically thrown into the mix for the sake of sporadically throwing Samuel Jackson in the mix.

If the entire movie is based on that, what's so sporadic about it?

So you're saying the effects were bad? You've obviously not seen very many movies then.

Compared to the reception they've received, terrible. Especially since that's the thing people seemed to like the most about it. And I have seen many movies.

See, the only thing I'm aruguing with is your ridiculous assumption that it's the "worst movie ever made". It truly was a terrible movie, but I've seen much, much worse. Going into that film expecting great cinema is naive at best; with something like this you get what you should expect.

I'm gonna stop you right there. You are 1.) arguing subjectivity 2.) taking the "worst movie ever made" thing literally and 3.) replying to my bait.

1. To say "hardly" to my subjective claim is to say my personal taste is "wrong".

2. Obviously it is not a valid claim to say it is the worst movie ever made, because of the simple fact that I have not seen every movie ever made.

3. If my wording in the large paragraph wasn't enough to give it away, this should have:

Case in point. In one sentence, you just proved that Iron Man 2 being the worst movie ever made isn't merely just my own opinionated belief - it's a cold hard objective fact. That was a lot sooner than I expected.

I honestly wasn't expecting a rebuttal let alone one like that. :D

Of course I'm arguing subjectivity. So are you. Why I replied to your bait, well..I don't even know that.

I don't see how i proved it was only your opinionated belief? There is no absolute in something like this, but it's generally accepted that certain elements of a film make it bad. Aka, worse than others. I don't see how you've proven that Iron man 2 had any more of that than many other movies widely regarded as "worse".

You misread. That was me posting an example of my blatant tom-trollery.

For all the complaints I had about the movie, you brought up the point, "Well that aspect isn't as bad as this one over here in this movie." That's fine, but still debatable. The thing is, one single element isn't what causes me to hate Iron Man 2. It's the accumulation of all my complaints put together - the big picture, as well as the context of the movie off-screen (similar to how people will appreciate softer bands more if they were from an earlier time period). Also, I didn't mention every single one of my criticisms. You can't just compare it to other movies with similar qualities and tell me I should hate those ones more by my own logic.

Additionally, I was joking when I was "objectively proving" it is the worst movie, because that is silly and simply not possible. It just comes down to me thinking Iron Man 2 was the worst crap I have seen, and possibly the worst crap I will ever see, which is my subjective opinion that you simply cannot "disprove" but you can absolutely disagree with.

Which I am disagreeing with, and telling you why I disagree. ;)

But seriously, the room is the worst movie ever made. It's like iron man with Tommy Wiseau, except he doesn't wear a metal suit to cover his silly face.

I watch Casablanca again last night for this paper I have to right. I recently got Animal Kingdom and am hoping to find time to watch tomorrow and Going the Distance if I can get my hands on it.

Watched Four Brothers last night, and can easily say it's my new favourite film, some of my favourite actors too. Can anyone recommend me some similar movies?

I just watched The Wrestler. What an incredible movie. Darren Aronofsky's movies are always great.

I don't have cable/satellite right now, so I'm watching movies and playing video games.

Zombieland- love this movie

Anger Management- possibly my favourite Sandler movie

Thunderbirds- I didn't see the end, but not totally terrible

Got to watching Going The Distance last night. If you can look past the dullness of the story it's a pretty funny movie and would recommend it your looking for a quick laugh.

Zombieland, for the second time.

Good movie, better than Shaun of the Dead, which I found funny, but overrated.

I find them about even, maybe with Shaun a little better.

I've watched 3 movies tonight.

Space Chimps- better than I really expected

Sgt. Bilko- great movie

You Don't Mess With the Zohan- easily the worst of the 3

I saw Fair Game tonight. I didn't like it. The trailer made it out to be a lot more intense than it actually was. I found it boring and too political (and not enough action) for my tastes.

I would easily put Shaun of the Dead over Zombieland. But they are both enjoyable movies.

There are people that like Shaun of the Dead? Hmmm... Learn something new everyday.

The Fall and Moon

The Fall was kind of confusing at first, but I got into it.

Moon was good

I agree.

One thing's for sure, anything involving Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is lulzy and epic.
