@the data type debate: I don't think Jagex would upgrade to 64-bit because that would upset everyone who currently has a top page 200M stat. Many people go for 200M's for the rank or for the sense of completion by maxing out every stat. Because the max value for data type long is about 9 Quintillion, and since xp is stored in tenths, one would have to achieve 900 Quadrillion xp in a skill in order to lock themselves a perm rank - something that's just not going to happen. It would also ruin the sense of completion for maxing out every stat because it would be impossible to do this let alone max even one stat in an entire lifetime (not even suomi could do it, sorry m8), unless they also upgrade skills to a billion xp per hour, but then again that would be about as pointless as the 10x hitpoints oops i mean constitution update, and not even worth the effort upgrading to 64-bit in the first place.

 

Remember there are also plenty of players who feel that the 200m xp cap just serves to close off skills that they enjoy training, thus making them either reducing the enjoyment in their gameplay or making them do a Jebrim and create more accounts to get up there again - after all, just about everyone who get stats to 200m would do it in a stat they enjoyed, and just about everyone has at least one, usually 2 or 3, stat(s) which they hate, which, as they accumulate more and more 200m skills in stats they like, become(s) an ever more significant part of the game.

 

Plus I don't like the idea of a rank being permanently set in stone. And I dont think I would feel different even if I was rank 1 in something.

 

Just saying that though there are definately some who support the view you posted above, you cant really use it as an argument for why Jagex shouldn't raise the xp cap as the view is far from universal.

 

And if you point out that I dont have any top page stats to try to devalue my arguments, there is two things that you need to consider - first, that there are those who have expressed these or similar sentiments who do have top page ranks (Jebrim, Kingduffy, Xxx Neo Xxx7 to name but three), and second, the top page people are already an insignificant part of the people with 200m stats - and over time that will just get more and more the case.

 

To follow this up, RS is pretty unique among hiscore systems. Permanent ranks don't occur in almost every other hiscore system out there.

False. Stop listening to rumours/reading out of context pics.

The unique hiscore system is one aspect I enjoy about RS. 200M achievements give you a place set in stone. You don't have to worry about future competition stealing your rank after you've retired. It's a good feeling knowing that no matter what, (unless you get yourself banned L) nobody will ever take your rank from you. To take that aspect away from the accomplisment itself would demotivate many people who go for 200M's. And if you really enjoyed the skill purely for the sake of enjoying the skill like Jebrim here does, you would go ahead and make 5 different accounts for that purpose rather than whine all day about how the xp cap should be lifted.

The reason that you can get over that in total xp is because nowhere in the java applet is it told to calculate your total xp. That is only done on the website which isn't run on 32 bit Java.

Nope, and to be honest, I really don't think it's a realistic goal at all.

 

There's so many current issues with RuneScape Classic, and almost never are they attended to, so I'm sure S U O M I would find it horribly frustrating.

Not to mention that you´ve got to burn normal logs to 200m fm in classic, bury normal bones or something to 200m pray..not even mentioning 200m slayer etc. it´d seriously take up all your lifetime.

Haha it's just a thought :P 200M in all skills is so much harder in rsc than in rs2, will be hard to get supplies for all skills and requires so much more clicking.

 

Anyways one goal at a time, going to try to get 200M in all skills in rs2 first if I can even do that. I don't know yet what I am going to do after that, of course I would be playing rs less but I doubt I would just quit after spending like 30k hours on rs and achieving something I have wanted to do for so long. Would be nice to play rs without worrying about wasting exp because I couldn't gain more exp anyways. Unless I make another account but I doubt I will do that. Might play rsc though, maybe not 200M all skills but some of them. Combat is pretty relaxing in rsc and I really liked the 3 rounding system. I think rsc is full of bots though :/ One good part about rsc is that it doesn't have hiscores, so nobody could track my exp gains there :P

Does anyone know what's the best combat exp/h in rsc? I was f2p when I played rsc and never really paid attention to exp rates anyways. Mostly killed lesser demons or black knights near the altar with paralyze monster(protection from melee in rsc) and superhuman strength, was epic exp. And I buried every bone haha and was buying big bones too, I think I got like 70 prayer in rsc. It was pretty high back then :P

I always remember the pirate's hut in members wilderness being popular. Maybe that was because it was AFK and the pirates had aggression at all levels. Training prayer there would be hard.

Yeah of course I wouldn't train prayer with normal bones anymore, I just wanted high rank in prayer. Was pretty easy to get high rank in prayer because it was so slow and of course paralyze monster was nice prayer to have =P Went to wilderness boneyard sometimes too to get free big bones. I remember lots of people trained combat in wild hobgoblin mines too.

No such thing as slayer in classic, actually combat worked like slayer - you only got exp when you killed an enemy, not each hit.

Anyways those screenshots were taken years ago, imo no point in bringing it back up again. Maybe he was joking or something, you can't know that. You didn't see the full conversation. Even if he wasn't joking, people can change a lot after years. You probably didn't even know him in the first place.

 

I always aim for the best possible rank so I am not too happy either if someone gets some ranks before me. It happens but I am not gonna hate or dislike anyone because of it. I will forever live in the shadows of Zezima, Zarfot, Lover Romeo etc etc and I am fine with that. And I respect their achievements. It's just part of life, usually there is always someone who is better than you in something.

 

I remember when Zezima was getting his first 200M skills and he did it very fast, it was back then when I started thinking that maybe it's possible to get 200M in all skills. And I was really excited following his progress. And Zarfot had so awesome guides, very hard to match that and I don't even want to. His guides has helped me so much and I learned a lot from him so I guess there are many good sides too in living in someone's shadow. And tbh I wouldn't even want the same attention Zezima is getting, obviously couldn't play Private On anymore and people would probably bother me more if I was training something somewhere. Anyways I am not playing this game to be better than someone.
