Throughout my time of playing Runescape, I've been many places and done many thing. Every now and then a player will ask me to add them, and often due to a variety of reasons, I will say no. After saying that I seem to get persecuted for being a jerk or something of the like...

 

 

 

So I guess my question is: Am I really that bad for not wanting a person on my friends list? Should I lie to them and say my list is full?

I do that all the time. It makes no sense that people will want to be friends after talking to them for like a minute.

Lying isn't that good. I'd tell the truth, just say that you don't want them on. If they can't accept that, then put them on ignore :)

To be honest, i add almost anyone.

 

 

 

If they talk to me, i talk back, they probably wont get deleted when i go on the periodic friends list deleting sprees in which i delete everyone i don't really remember.

I have 4 people on my friends list and all of them I know in real life. I don't really add people as friends, but I leave my friends on for anyone whp wants to get a hold of me.

I have 3 friends on my list :D

 

I don't add many people either, and after leaving for almost 2 years my list kinda got lost.

 

 

 

If people ask to add me, I will add some people, but most of the time I lie about being full so I don't hurt their feelings

I only have like 10 people on my friends list and I know most of them in real life. Otherwise, if someone seems alright ill add them, if I don't talk to them much or they're annoying ill delete them later. Always a bummer when someone ends up being really really annoying and just constantly hitting you up for no reason or wanting something and being irritating.

I "clean" out my friends list every month or two

I have 115 people on my friends list - however, only 20 of them are ever online due to the fact that I quit for a year not very long ago (either they have also quit or they've deleted me).

 

 

 

My criteria for adding people are mostly intelligence and discussion value added - if the person's a lvl33 with 247 total but they know what they're talking about, I'll add them.

 

 

 

I have deleted people with nearly max total before, though, due to their unbearable ignorance.

I don't have that problem. I have about 15 people added and only one of them talks to me.

I use the full list excuse a lot. Usually when I talk to the random dude who then asks to add eachother. I'd add you if I've talked to you more than 5 minutes and still like you. This way I don't hurt their fweeelingsss, awww

I hate when I tell someone a level of mine and they want to be friends. Why do you want to be my friend? I told you ONE thing. Besides my level and the fact that I play RS, you know NOTHING about me at this point. It's obvious that they just wanted a high level friend.

 

 

 

The funny thing is, when I was like level 70 it was much easier to make RS friends, because people were friends with me because of my personality - not levels.

It takes a special kind of person to be compatible enough with me to be friends, otherwise they just end up pissing me off.

If you really want to be bad, then you tell them you're adding them, pm them to prove it, then remove them, then turn your private to friends.

More than 60% of my active friends list is female. I guess im a player... -.- I only ever talked a lot to three people, and two of them backstabbed then tried to make up. Thats my friends list. Tho, i dont have trouble finding new friends. And ofcourse ill always have you lot <3!

This topic makes me sad. I havnt had someone ask to be my friend in a couple months. :(

I don't have the heart to say no. I usually end up adding them, then deleting them, and adding them to ignore when they log off.

Usually I will add them, then promptly delete them, and add them again to say hello or respond whenever they pm me. If one of those responses turns into a good conversation then they will stay on my friend's list, but usually this is not the case. About half of my friends list is people that I know irl (Even if I don't talk to them much :roll: ), and the other half is people I met online who I talk to regularily and I like to see online.

well for one, my friends list usually is full, and when it isn't, i'll add "1" "2" "3" "4"..etc to make it full so i can tell the truth \

 

 

 

the only people i add nowadays are people who i run into pretty much every day doing the same stuff, or people who're friends with my friends. Mostly when I talk to people in game, we'll have like a 5 minute conversation, then i'll say i'm about to leave, and they'll ask to be friends. Normally, this wouldn't be so bad, but 90% of the time they start off with asking me a question about a skill. I don't know if it's just me being paranoid, but I reason that if i add them, that's how it'll be for the next month, with them just pestering me with questions
