"Over-Hyped" Quests

Just finished MEP2. And just like a majority of the scapers' consulted a few guides (3 - diff. fan sites') and everywhere it was like keep prayer always on, carry food, agility potions, energy potions and what not. I am glad I didn't follow them... otherwise I'd have to drop them... just like the 4 sharks I dropped to make space for the mirrors. Guthan's took care of the health while I was busy reading how to set the mirrors... and my stats are not that high either. I was a bit disappointed with the quest as I had heard a lot and was looking forward to something more challenging. It wasn't what I expected. Hoping WGS is better than this.

I'm not saying that the quest is easy... and kudos to the people who did it without the guide and thanks to those who made the guide. I feel its just "over-Hyped"...

Any Comments?

When I did Mourning's End 2, it was the hardest quest and I still think it is.

Even with a guide, the puzzles dont get really easy like a guide for WGS would do.

Kinda like playing any game while using cheats and saying '0megod' its easy. Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with using guides but I have to be frank that will ruin the experience of any quest if its used for every single step or even just the harder parts. I would avoid it on all the most hyped quests.

Its been a long time since I did that quest but I still consider it the most difficult. Dont know if I would consider myself adding to the hype but its just my opinion which seems to be the same with many other people that it just happens to be the most difficult.

Perhaps that means the most difficult of fairly simple quests in general.

I remember the puzzle bits and certain battles that you didnt know would happen being the most difficult parts of it but I dont remmeber much else.

Any quest with a guide is easy as pie.

MEP2 is like a walk thru a shiney little cave with some pretty lights if you're using a guide.

If you have no guide, its day of release and you are trying to solve it while writing down a guide; as you hit about the 8 hour mark you start to go RARGH

MEP2 is the ONLY quest in years I did not beat on release day, and thats simply because I got home at 4pm and it took me TWELVE sodding hours to beat the puzzle and I was amazingly still amoung the first hundred or so to get through.

I don't know why people hated this quest without a quest guide so much. I really enjoyed the light puzzle (although I do like to do difficult logic puzzles) a combination of guthans + terrorbird + small amounts of prayer + super def pots got me through it just fine. Although I nearly died when I realized I had to go over the handholds AGAIN!!! GAH!! Those were evil. Other than those I loved the quest.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I did it without a guide

Try doing MEP2 before summoning came out. Was quite a bit harder back then.

I enjoyed doing WGS without a guide (did get help from friends who were ahead of me in it though). I like puzzles, (love the professor Layton series :P ), but MEP2 was just a little too much at the time.

After I read the guides I was still confused about how to set the mirrors. I only used tipits and it didn't do a good job on explaining to me. So most of it was just guesswork for me. WGS was pretty easy even without the guide. (I did it before there was a guide to follow). The puzzles arn't that hard or confusing, just simple math to figure it out. But the thing most people are referring to when they say it's hard is the balance elemental fight. You have to solo the lvl 450 monster which switches attack styles whenever you turn a prayer on. I had 20 sharks, a few p pots, a super set, and a summoned familiar. Along with bandos and sgs. When I got done with the fight my familiar was dead, all my potions were used up and I had 5 sharks left. I'm sure most of that was because I went in there blind. I had no clue what I was fighting against, except that it was high leveled.

Read the topic heading knew it would be you <_< ....since u've been teasing me the whole day about it. Anyway I myself found MEP2 the hardest quest in RS. More boring and killing than One Small Favour...Dangerous than DT....irritating than Under Ground Pass, but thats probably me  .

Comparin WGS to MEP2 is like comparing imps to tormented demons lol  .GL by the way for quest cape

For your next quest, do not use a guide, ask friends for help, or accept any advice towards it, including what to bring. Then come here and complain about how easy it is.

Because of course the puzzles aren't going to be hard if you have a step-by-step solution. That's just common sense.

Well, JaGeX intends players to do the quests w/o guides. So some quests you may think are 'easy'' are really not without guides. I try myself to do most quests without guides. My most prestigious achievment would probably be doing dt without a guide. took me around a week but I did it. I try to do quests without them to get the feel for them. To actually read the dialogue and see what the story is about. Most people just try getting it done as fast as possible just to get the exp/ etc.

basically theyre not overhyped if you do the quest without a guide.

I still read the dialogue in all my quests. Even if I was using a guide.

I think Sheep Herder is overhyped.

It's not as annoying or as hard as people say it is.

You know need common sense, which people seem to lack.

It depends on your luck. Many people as in my case, THE DAMN SHEEP FROM HELL KEPT RUNNING AWAY REPEATEDLY and sometimes go around you to get back to where they want to go. So, for many people Sheep Herder is a horrible quest.
