Seriously though I find it hard to see why you reached that conclusion. They're bigger yes, but unless you have small hands that's a good thing because if anything the PS3 controllers are a little on the small side. They're heavier which I find better as well. The trigger buttons are much better than the PS3 ones, and so are the analog sticks. Pressing R3/L3 can start to get quite painful if yopu have to hold it for a long time, e.g. sprinting in Call of Duty. The plastic feels better as it has a little grain in it and is easier to hold if your hand gets sweaty. The start/select buttons feel better than the PS3 ones as they are proper plastic rather than rubber. On the whole they are just made of better quality stuff and after extensive use of them both it becomes apparent.

The D pad is a little crappy, and they take batteries, which are the only bad things about them. I thought I was going to have problems with the analog placement after having always used a Sony controller but after 10 minutes it felt fine.

The 360 controller is awkward, the buttons are spread apart too much which makes it more difficult to do the split second things. The pad doesn't fit well in the hand because it isn't the most ergonomic shape. The way the back triggers are different from the top ones are annoying, the way the analogue sticks aren't parallel is strange and the d-pad is a bit irratic. I don't have small hands either so that isn't a problem.

I actually like the 360 having the analogue stick offset. And I dislike the "2" shoulder buttons on the dualshock not having anything to keep your finger slipping off. But for some reason I don't like the 360 controller any more than the PS3 one. The only controller I ever thought was OK was the GameCube one, and that even suffered from cheap analogue sticks. I'm still curious how anyone would prefer a controller over keyboard and mouse, for most things k&m just work so much better. There are a few things controllers do better which is why I have one for my computer, most games though k&m are just so much better.

Considering getting one next week, getting paid tomorrow + birthday soon so should have more than enough to get one plus a few games.

Tempted to get the Playstation Go Play Freeview tuner thing, can get that, a 250GB PS3 + 2 games (Uncharted 1 and Little Big Planet seem to be the best out of the options) for £300, which is fairly good.

Would probably also buy my self at least one other game, not sure what, Heavy Rain looks really good but not sure it's my sort of game (especially at full price) so might pick up some older games first for now. I have a 360 so won't be getting any cross platform games. Will most likely pick up a few PSone games too + a few PSN games, depending on what I like the look of.

The PS3 is region free (on the games anyway) right? If so might import Demon's Souls as that's not out in Europe yet I don't believe.

Can anyone recommend some older games + some decent PSN games that I should be looking at getting?

Cheers

 me and my roomate have accumulated $200 worth of Gamestop gift cards (from Christmas, birthdays and the like lol) so we're going to get a PS3 tomorrow. We have Gamefly so I'll just be sending games from it to play. Should go nicely with our new TV haha.

I think you're talking about PlayTV? And yeah, it's pretty awesome. I use it all the time. Very recommended.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

[bleep] it. Just read some comments on an article, nothing to do with Heavy Rain, and some [bleep] spoiled it.

That sucks, I've deliberately avoided all Heavy Rain discussion other than the 'demo looks good' conversation in this thread. I really just want to sit and enjoy it in my own time, I've even avoided the wikipedia page for it.

Very nice! PS3 is flipping awesomesauce.

I leveled up a bit more in MAG today. Respec'd to an LMG build because SMGs I find are crap. They have lots of bullets in each clip but the damage is much too low for me. Bipod on the LMG actually helps a lot in long-range, and in close-range LMGs pwn.

Got back from Gamestop, applying system updates and all that good stuff.

Bought MAG and BlazBlue as well. We ended up just getting the refurbished 40gig model, I don't see why we would need the slim (and we can upgrade the hard drive on our own if we need to). Saved us $80 so why not.

I'll post what my PSN thing is here as soon as I get all that [cabbage] set up.

I play MAG quite a lot.

A piece of advice before you start playing MAG: Put your first 2 skill points into the medical kit, and your next 2 points into resurrection. You'll thank me later.

I remember when Bioshock went from 360/PC exclusive to being on PS3 boatloads of 360 fanboys started posting the ending all over sites like IGN. Pretty pathetic.

To me, personally, I hate the Xbox fanboys who make fun of every PS3 owner for wasting their money. They apparently cannot accept the fact that the PS3 is picking up steam and gaining sales steadily.

I was on an achievement hunter video yesterday, but instead it was called Trophy hunter for the day, and it was for Heavy Rain. Every Xbox fanboy complained that Rooster Teeth had betrayed it's followers by posting a PS3 game on their profile. It turned into a huge flame war in which Xbox owners hoarded every PS3 owner they could and tried to bring them down. People were comparing Heavy Rain to a cheap version of the Sims (Apparently, they saw the first two seconds of the video, but were so disgusted by the amazingness of the PS3 that they quit watching).

I think it's the fact these people haven't actually played a PS3 and can't accept that there is a console on the market with more potential for growth. I've already heard rumors about an Xbox 3 for gods sake.

Did anybody watch The Testers or whatever that stupid downloadable reality show was on PSN?

If you want an opinion, it was pretty stupid.

Joined Raven squad in MAG.

Be sure to play on Acquisition if you don't want to get raped by SVER/Valor. Raven is really, really good at Acquisition, sucky at all other modes.

Heh, I actually decided just to switch to SVER. Roommate picked them and they seemed cooler.

VERY good choice. Never go to Raven. Good guns, but crappy maps. Sver has so-so guns, but epic maps.

Unfinished netherrack symbol of Khorne.

Never forget. ~creeper face w/single tear~

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!
