November 11, 200916 yr Yep no joke, I just read someone complaining on the RuneScape forums someone said to check their application for a Graphics Artist so I downloaded it here is what is listed. (Below was taken directly from Jagex's Graphics User Interface Artist application). September 2009GUI Homework CHARACTER DESIGN SCREEN This interface would appear in-game, and would allow players to choose a new hairstyle and change their basic clothing kit all at once, allowing them to preview what they will look like before paying a sum to make the change. At this stage, we are looking for your thought processes on how the interface should be structured. Usability is the priority here, over the aesthetics, so use generic placeholders for things like icons and graphics, just as long as we can see where you have placed things, and how you intend to have the player navigate through the interface (scroll bars, tabs etc). Feel free to explore multiple ideas with rough sketches, and to annotate to explain how you have arrived at your design decisions, or to make notes as to how you might add things like roll over states, or pop up boxes. We would expect to see rough sketches (photos, scans or sketches in Photoshop are fine) with any appropriate notes, and one final .jpg at the correct pixel size with placeholders properly arranged. Just to clarify, you don't need to draw out lots of individual icons and we are assessing you purely on your layout and usability skills. This interface should include: A way for the player to select which part of their character they wish to change. There should be space for a maximum of 30 different colours. Each colour should also have a text description.A total price of the currently selected changesA confirm purchase buttonA window titleA help buttonA close/exit button Within each sub section, there should be some way for the player selecting from a number of different options. Each option should have a text description and a small preview icon, which will then be shown on the player's character model or chat head model when clicked on. There should be some way for the player to see they have a particular item in the list selected for purchase Misc Points: Some of the clothing will be two-toned, so there needs to be some way for the player to choose between the two different parts of clothing to change their colours.Bear in mind the lists of items may need to be expanded at some point in the future.
