Best instrumental solo ever??

Featured Replies

My vote definately goes to 'Piano Thing' by Muse. If you play the piano, you realize how incredibly awesome it is and hard to play. Also Eruption by Van Halen I like a lot, it's what got me into guitars in the first place....

cow bell. makes me smile :P

It'll prolly go down to guitar solos and there are so many good ones, I don't think I can choose a best one.

The way Muse plays the piano isn't hard at all, it's just fast but what they play is all chord-based (if that makes sence), so when you practise alot it'll be easy.

I vote the solo in "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, oh yeah.

Child In Time - Deep Purple

Eruption - Van Halen

Stairway To Heaven - Led Zeppelin

All along the watchtower - Hendrix, that's gotta be up there

(Has anyone else's forums lay out gone a bit spazztic? >.<)

Hendrix version is good indeed. You've tried Dylon's live version of Dylan and The Dead? That's very good aswell! The Version on disc 2 on "Before the Flood" which is a live recording of Dylan with "The" Band is good aswell, but I prefer the version of Dyland and the Dead!

Dreaming of that face again

It's bright, and blue, and shimmering

Grinning wide

And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes

Eruption by Van Halen definately takes the cake

First that come to mind:

Anouk - Nobody's wife

Steve Vai - For the love of god

All really really really good guitarists but I sort of rediscovered the band 3 a few days ago.

Joey Eppard's Bramfatura's possibly the most beautiful song/solo I have ever heard. If you want to check it out its a purevolume account I'm not sure on the rules on purevolume accounts here but its not to hard to guess the site.
