Christmas

I was actually just about to create a christmas thread (albeit with a bit more in the fire post)

I cannot wait. For starters it will be the first time i've seen my parents in over a month and a half. Secondly, i'll be able to have a shave. Thirdly PIGS IN BLANKETS! Need I say more?

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is that most families seem to spend it differently, but in a way they spend it in the same way, doing something that's unique to them.

My family personally, we wake up, around 11am-1pm, whenever my brother wakes up, we will open the presents and then spend an hour or so wandering around the house lost while my mum cooks the food with my dad trying to interfere. Then we will all go into the dining room and eat, the #1 meal of the year, I absolutely LOVE Christmas dinner.

The unique thing that my family sometimes does however is that we often end up going into our garage, putting the patio heater on and playing darts as a family for a few hours. It usually ends up with a lot of laughs and my dad farting a lot after the lovely Dinner we've had. Then we will probably end up going inside and playing some DVD games.

My nan will be down too, which is great, she is a real laugh as she's the kind of woman who is only as old as she feels. She has a laugh and is really fun to have over for Christmas.

I'll wrap it up there, but I could go on forever.

I'm a little too old for presents, but this year I wish I wasn't. I want a PS3 and Modern Warfare 2. That game looks incredible.

Anyway, Christmas is one of those holidays that has a certain "feel" to it for me, probably generated by years of nostalgia as a kid. I like it, and hopefully I'll see some good Christmas lights around the place. That's always nice. I'm hoping for some good food too; this time of year always seems to deliver on that front.

Can't freaking wait. I've got 2 exams to do before i can head home but that means no work over the holiday, just 4 straight weeks of taking it easy.

It'll be really good to see the folks again, Christmas day is usually a good laugh. Get to see friends i haven't seen for a while as everyone is back for christmas, so should have some good nights out with the old gang again.

It was a bloody quick year.

I agree with you about the "feel" of Christmas. There's just that exciting Christmasy feeling in the air. Which reminded me, I totally wish I got a chocolate advent calendar!

I usually never want anything for Christmas so my mom ends up buying me heaps of clothes D: Luckily, this year I developed an old book obsession so I've been buying old editions of books on eBay :XD: Like an illustrated 1880 edition of Pride and Prejudice, Count of Monte Cristo from 1894, etc. I looove books :P

What sucks though is I won't be home on Christmas day. I hate not being home on Christmas day! My family is leaving for Brazil on the 24th D:

I love watching The Santa Clause on Christmas eve.

Kinda over Christmas, but it's still nice to spend time with my extended family who I never see.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Well christmas itself doesn't mean that much to me, but i'm happy that it somehow brings family and friends together :)

The whole December is a great month, full of joy, happiness and expectation. I love the atmosphere, "december/christmas spirit", decoration(christmas tree, lights, the whole city decoration...) =]

And i love christmas music :D

I like the feeling of Christmas. One of the best times is the last week or so of school/college and everyone is just in the spirit of Christmas and you end up having a laugh with the teachers rather than doing work. Or some teachers at least. It's best when it's snowing though, I think snow represents Christmas very nicely. It can be beautiful to see, it's fun to play around with and in, and it can help to bring family and friends together :)

Presents this year are at a minimum really for me. I'm getting maybe £200 if I'm lucky, an external hard drive (or money for one off Amazon, really) one or two DVDs and tickets to Ireland in February.

Probably just go to one of my cousin's house and have a ball.

I'm in dire need of some new clothes! Especially trousers...

EDIT: So I hope I get some.

Ah yes gotta love the Christmas season. A few days off work and a chance to relax for a bit. Back when I was a young kid we'd always use to go Xmas light looking but as I've grown up it seems that less and less people around town are putting up lights. Or maybe I'm just getting too old.

Boxing Day Test match anyone?

We had all the Christmas songs on at work today. Got to love Co-op Radio, the best fake radio station in the world.

But it is funny, it cheers people up, stacking shelves is so much fun when singing along to slade.
