I wish that jagex would FINALLY MAKE THE STUPID DRAGON PICKAXE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Allow me to first explain to you why there is a dragon wc axe but not a dragon pickaxe. You see, wood is softer than stone, meaning that a dragon wc axe generally uses less force per swing. Furthermore, when you swing the axe at an object, the head is pushed against the axe handle. If you will look at the basic design of the two axes, you will notice that a wc axe head is supported by a good portion of the handle, whereas a pickaxe head is only supported by the tip of the handle. Add that to the fact that you have to swing a pickaxe harder (see second sentence), and it's a wonder that pickaxe heads don't fly off more often.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jagex has only relatively recently developed materials and magical forcefields that are capable of holding a heavy magical wc axe head on the handle. Forcefields required to stabilize a dragon pickaxe head, on the other hand, must be stronger for reasons discussed above. Jagex is still working on figuring out how to make a forcefield that is strong enough to hold the pickaxe together but won't deliver a lethal magical charge to you the second you touch the pickaxe.
