Jacks0n
Hmm, the king took 3 times (made 2 idiotic mistakes)Sentinels took once (epicly easy)Mother took once (took full inventory of sharks + 3 p pots, and a full tortoise. Used them all, killed her on 20hp) Was a very nice quest. Mother was quite tough. ~[Blog]~[CrystalMathLabs]~[Last.fm]~
TheKoolKandy
This quest was acually so easy for me. I didn't even have to feed king vargas one shark and I did the quest without a guide. As for then sentinels and mother I went straight from the sentinels to the mother and for her I jsut prayed whichever style she was using like TDs. I was wearing full armour and alot of the time I had to use mage but I still only used 4 sharks on the whole fight. Overall, easy and fun quest with a great reward thanks for helping me get better range. :D Slayer; it's just what I do.Thanks Hugger 88 for the awesome siggy!Click show if you want to see achievements.Achievments: Maxed/Comp'd 7th of August 2012. 120 Dungeoneering sometime early december 2011. 99 Slayer achieved October 22nd, 2010. 99 Prayer achieved September 99 18th 2010. lagatag
I gave up at Vargas because Jagex hates me. Dags pile him and he dies before I can draw all the dags off him. Tried it like 3 times, whats the dags max hit anyway? They never hit him for less than like 12 or 13 :\ Then I found out you need 75 prayer to even use the reward xp on prayer so I figure I can wait til I get 75 prayer to go back and finish the quest. The Dark Lord
The Battle of Rellekka was pretty fun when I used ice barrage on the dagganoths. It's also hilarious that I got bored with my character and changed it into a female. When I talked to Princess Astrid on the longboat after the battle, she said "Oh, how I wish you were still a man! *sad face*". Lord-kain1
I know i had a massive problem at te mother, had no real problem anywhere else. I had to face her 3 times. she kept pwning me with 30s and 40s despite i had prayer and gear and i kept splashing with the magic attacks too. Only reason i manage to win was because i got in some seriously lucky hits bakc ot back with the axe and for some reason she stayed on that style for a while. yay for luck of both kinds eh? Returned3
Just completed the quest and I must say, it is not as tough as some of you put it to be.. of course I did use Tip.It's guide. Escorting King Vargas wasn't really a problem, there was really only one map that the Dags would attack him and that was only like 3, which I easily disposed with the Balmung. The rest was rather easy as the Rock Lobsters do not attack him. I wore Veracs, turned on "Deflect Melee" and took a rather easy walk out. The Sentinels were not very tough, it just took some time to kill them as the Balmung isn't as accurate as some other weapons. I stood inbetween them and alternated after every "high" damage. I only died once to the Mother after following Tip.It's guide of activating "Deflect Ranged" throughout the battle. My health drained to zero before I could rid 1/4 of its. The 2nd time round, I decided to active "Deflect Magic" and the Mother hardly damaged me, my War Tortise wasn't much help in terms of extra food. With a magic bonus of +11, I hit it fairly well and my crystal bow didn't disappoint me neither. Only thing that disappointed me was how inaccurate the Balmung was. Of course, some may lash at me saying that I used a guide but meh.. 00:00:0500:00:0400:00:0300:00:0200:00:0100:00:00 Break the Walls down!
Dax
Vargas - I was lacking in supplies from earlier, so I left half way through. Got it second try.Sentinels - Easy, first try.Mother - Underprepared, and then it got stuck in a continuous cycle (See my blog post for the full, annoying story) I don't think it was hard, I just didn't prepare myself properly. <_< #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Flareboy64
I personlly had no problems with it, even used initiate at the vargas part, although just making it out with 2 sharks left. Loved the final fight, brought back memories of when I was a noob, also loved the reward got my most hated combat skill to 81. Edit: I also used protect range the mother fight, found it odd that most people are saying that they took massive amounts of damage while praying range. Again though, i just suceeded with 1 shark, and if I didn't bring my tortise, I would have died. Ermy
Damn it i loved the fight in horror from the deep, this adds another quest i have to do now. Upto 7 now, 2 fun looking quests released back to back it's been a while since that has happened for me. Those with a little bit of knowledge are more dangerous than those with none. Punitive_D
Hours of temple trekking has made me a pro escort, I'm not lying when I say Vargas was never touched.Sentinels were very very easy, once you understood them, which didn't take much effort at all.Mother: Had a great time with all my Void helms, thought she did land some lucky hits. A great, fun quest. I always wondered if Rellecka would ever be invaded by the daggermouths. Void's an interesting idea, but that just means that you need to switch weps AND helms, right? Worth the added complication?
Nenga
Besides the mother everything took me one try. The mother wasn't too nice. tried prayer switching a few times, big mistake. Then after I settled on melee prayer only I was unbalanced on p pots:food ratio. After that I was still having some problems and heard everyone was wearing range armor, So armadyl + a few mage boosting items + good inv balance = pwned. Ponies! Still, it wouldn't be a bad idea to stand a few spaces back, pray range/mage, and attack her with the necessary spells/type of attack. When you have to melee her, get Balmung and move in close quarters for a few seconds, then take a step back. Of course, she probably will follow you back unless there's a safe spot. atestarossa
To all the people saying how easy this quest was: Firstly, this was not a very hard quest, and you are quite right. But still remember the difference in using a guide, and knowing what you are going to meet, and to do the quest without having any more clues than what is said in the quest, and what you can think up yourself. Those sentinels took me a while to figure out how to kill, and I also did just take one sort of elemental spell when i was going up against the queen the first time. Adapting to what you see, and making up some strategies that work, on the spot both makes the quest a bit more challenging, as well as more rewarding (for me at least) That being said, i actually have to say that combat wise, this quest wasn't hard, compared to let us say boss hunting. But compared to the different boss fights we've already seen in quests, this was actually one of the harder ones. What made this quest easy for me, was that there was actually none puzzles at all. You were told what to do at any moment. Good for a change, but still something i do not want to see in too many quests.

I was switching back and forth not because I knew I had to but because I wanted them to both die at once. The Dagannoth Mother's colors were kind of obvious except for melee, but I also ran out of runes before the fight ended. I went in with Blue H'ween, Black D'hide Top, and Torag's Platelegs and it wasn't too hard.Heh not bragging, just agreeing that the quest was more fun without a guide, especially since I did everything right on my first try without meaning to. wab
Managed all first time, but from other posted got myself VERY ready for the "hard" mother fight. She stayed on the same style for ~10 turns! It's way too easy to just switch prayers and I hardly got hitted at all, very surprised at how easy it was...next time I aint gonna belive any questers "I'm 138 and still I couldn't beat the boss after 3 times" LOL
