Its nearly 7pm, and the stew had just finished cooking. I'm finishing off my slayer task in the fight caves, and I'm half way through wave 62.

Dad: Time to get off and eat your dinner

Me: Gimme 2 minutes please dad, nearly finished and then I can log off

2 minutes later, Jad is redbarred, and I'm on a roll.

Dad walks over and turns my computer monitor off.

I turn it back on straight away and see an 89 hit me for the KO.

The point of this rant is to rage, nothing more and nothing else... GOD DAMN PARENTS SUCK SOMETIMES!!!

I had that happen at Jad toodry.gif. I only got him down to 3/4 health, but I had enough pots; and i was completely focused and calm....until of course I turned on my computer and was outside of the Fight Cave.icon_wall.gif

Long story short, I used to think and feel the same way about stuff like this.

In the long run though it makes you feel all better. Perhaps it just wasn't your time to defeat the glorious Jad, perhaps a greater fight cave day is to come!

I wouldn't feel so bad if that was the case, but I've beat him 9 times before this in the past :(

I see what you mean, if you died at sgw with full veracs and dclaws and your parents are so pissed off that they want to pull the plug and make you lose 40m potentially. But that didn't become a reality, YES that happened to me.

but yours did and wasted 90mins + another 90mins to get the cape is freaking stupid and depressing.

One thing that I have learned about parents, in all my time, is the fact when they do something like that was because nothing else got through. I'm sure if we planted a microphone on your computer, something like the WoW drama kid could've unfolded.

To prevent this in the future, be more responsive. When they tell you to turn the computer off, begin shutting it down immediately. Not one more minute, not ten more seconds, shut it down immediately. If you can turn it off as fast as possible, then they're more likely to believe you when you ask for two more minutes.

How was the stew?

Well, that would have worked, but he needed those two minutes RIGHT THEN. And that stew better have been good enough to die for...pun intended.

My point was that it must have been building up for a while... something must've set his 'rents off.

Luckily, my parents never do this, they just stand on the door and give me a murdering look, until i stop playing. :ohnoes:

But, usually i stop before they say anything.

Damn, sucks for you.

Luckily, my parents are more understanding. I just say something like "I need to get this level first", and indeed, they let me.

Ah, the joy of living on my own.

However, you should have listened to your father. If you look at it from his point of view, you disobeyed him and he is well within his right to do something like that.

I agree with Gin and Tonic, he has the authority to turn off the computer because of a few reasons:

1. It's his PC

2. You said two more minutes.

And by the way, just use a skill cape or Obsidian cape until you move out or your parents are away for 3 or 4 hours; when that happens make your move.

What kind of kid are you? You actually think your parent are right? Teenagers should rebel more often!

What's this? A Nazi dictatorship? "So my son is a few second over the 2 min limit. Of course he's not going to give me an exact time he would finish, but I know he would finish around the 2m mark. Oh stuff this, let's piss him off"

I hate my parents at the moment, because if I spend an hour on runescape my mum or dad will come up to me and say "why are you playing such a pointless, stupid game and you've been on it too long now, get off"

And to make things worse my dad will go on the computer for 6 hours doing what-ever he wants and my mum just watches TV all the time, and even if I start listening to music my dad will tell me stop looking at the "stupid screen"

what also *bleeps* me off is if my mum hears a gun-shot from a game I'm playing then she will say "why do you watch this mindless violence" and she won't let me buy any 12+ game even though I'm 14

sorry about doing this but aaaaarrrrggghhh I'm pretty annoyed at the moment with life and thanks If you read this for putting up with me.

Im very disappointed to have to agree with this. Yes, parents are annoying and they get on our nerves blah blah blah...but seriously, how many teenagers take enough responsibility to pay for all the goodies we have like the privilege to use the damn internet?
