fastortoise
What you guys heard of this rock super group? It's made up of:-Josh Homme (singer of Queens of the Stone Age)-Dave Grohl (singer of Foo Fighters & drummer for Nirvana)-John Paul Jones (bass players for Led Zeppelin) Everyone has to listen to this stuff, it's off the hook. I know it's late and some will think i'm drunk off my [wagon] but trust me, I am 100% sober and their songs are making me trip. A taste: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmEj_Lq6sWo&feature=related Do you guys love this as much as I do or am I exaggerating a bit too much? Lateralus
I was interested when I first heard that these guys were making an album, but the music is terrible. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
Diesel
I had been looking forward to that album release ever since I heard that they formed. I quenched my appetite by watching uploaded videos of their concerts and praying that time would move faster so that I could buy it. On release day I couldn't wait to go out to my local music store, so I bought it on iTunes and listened to it on the way to school. After all that, I had pretty high expectations to say the least. My first listen was extremely disappointing. Yes, I thought the first half was brilliant, but after Reptiles, it got a little too far "out there" for me. (besides Gunman. It's so catchy!) Recently, however, I've been listening to it more and been increasingly liking it. I still believe that their live shows are much better than what they have on the album. For one, their stage presence is great and they play off each other well. The closest they came to me was Columbus, Ohio but I couldn't make the trip. They're supposedly working on another album for 2010. I'm looking forward to seeing how their sound grows from their first. Hopefully it's not a "sophomore slump" album. On a side note, I'm glad to see Dave back on drums again. I remember hearing an interview from before TCV was formed saying that he wasn't drumming anymore because it made him too tired. It'd be sad to see such great drumming go to waste. EDIT: Don't let my signature fool you. I'm not THAT big of a Josh Homme fan-boy. ;-) Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew
Omar
I hate the riff, I can't stand it. The auto-wah (or whatever's giving it that sound sweeping effect) sounds disgusting. The chorus is nice, very atmospheric. The solo was disappointing. The outro was sort of sketchy but I guess after a few times listening to it you'd get used to it. Matt: You want that eh? How2PK
They were the 'surprise' act at lowlands this year. Everybody knew they were coming, and there was a big hype, we wanted to try it, but forgot that they played, haha. We were wondering were all those thousands of people were going to. We decided to get some chicken wings, haha. Anyway, Queens of the Stone Age don't interest me, neither do the bands of David Grohl (Nirvana excluded) and the basist of Led Zeppelin, I dunno about him. Anway, haven't heard the record and I don't plan on hearing it anytime soon. I bet it's boring music for boring 'alternative' people. RpgGamer
Dave Grohl has more side project bands then most people have brain cells. And they're all amazing. He also did something with the singer of Motorhead, which turned out pretty well. I love anything with Dave in it to be honest. Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Sam
Not too bad, in my opinion. The loop playing in the background is real annoying, but hey. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

Dax
I love this band, but i'd put a different song up there, I don't think Gunman is their best. Even though i've listened to it many a time, I still find Mind Eraser, No Chaser to be their best, with Dead End Friends also being pretty good. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
Jeffwilson99
I was also a bit disappointed with alot of their material. It's not as good as the material Homme and Grohl came up with when the played in QOTSA together, and I don't really think Homme guitar work is anywhere near as cool as it was in early Queens/Kyuss. If you want hear some of Grohl's best drumming, I'd say check out Songs for the Deaf, the album.
mcneilp
Can't say i was impressed. I'd heard a fair bit of hype but the tracks i heard didn't live up to it, in my opinion.Passed on tickets to one of their gigs as well. anonymous_user
I saw them live a few weeks ago. Pretty good, but I would only really listen to like 2 or 3 of the songs because most of them feel empty in rhythm. Still, I can't expect much from a first album. warri0r45
It's a pretty crappy song to be honest. You get good music when people have chemistry as musicians. Just randomly forming supergroups kind of flies in the face of that. It's probably just to build hype and sell albums.
ElkNight
I think the album cover is pretty badass, but I don't like the music that much. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! You can be a great musician, but if your material doesn't complement the other musicians then it just doesn't work out.

I can't argue with you on this cause it's all opinion, but when judging the solo, remember it's not always about being flashy it's about going with the flow of the song Gotta love the dance beat guys! just stand up and pelvic thrust all night, then you'll love the song :P I bet it's boring music for boring 'alternative' people. You obviously aren't listening to good alternative buddy! alternative indie is one of the most inventive genres out there... This group reminds me of the old group, Cream, really steady bass with the drums and really crazy out there style, I love it
Plugpoint
I like all of their past bands, particularly Nirvana, so I was looking forward to this but it turns out it's pretty boring. Maxed 15/06/
Lenin64
I kinda like it. The songs are too long, I think, and seem to get kind of disconnected from themselves after a while, but it sounds alright. Command the Murderous Chalices!
