Tax rate + Loyalty = 100 :) I think it will decrease to 50, to be honest. My loyalty was decreased to 80/0 after putting tax rate at 20%. I'm kind of scared to put a 30-40% tax rate, lol. ddaanniiellh Posted January 20, 2010 Share Posted January 20, 2010 To explain how the population works: Your stabilized population = The lower of either, Max Population * Loyalty, or Max Population * (100 - Public Resentment) Stabilized Loyalty = 100 - Tax Rate Everyone pays taxes, including those who work, and those who are idle. Your earned gold per hour is: Your current population * Tax Rate * (1 + Boosts you have active) So theoretically, if you have X as your max population, here would be a breakdown of how much money you would be making per hour off of your population (After it stabilizes), given that you are not constantly replenishing your loyalty. 10% - .1 * .9 * X = .09X20% - .2 * .8 * X = .16X30% - .3 * .7 * X = .21X40% - .4 * .6 * X = .24X50% - .5 * .5 * X = .25X60% - .6 * .4 * X = .24X70% - .7 * .3 * X = .21X 80% - .8 * .2 * X = .16X90% - .9 * .1 * X = .09X And if you honestly want to do this:100% - 1.0 * 0 * X = 0X This proves that 50% tax would be best Only if you're planning on leaving it as is over a long period of time, without replenishing your loyalty/population. If you do that, it would be better to have as high of a tax rate as possible. If I can get my stone quarry (level 5) to level 8 and my crop field to level 8 from level 5, then I get a 5k gold cash bonus. I sure hope that there are more tasks with vouchers for rewards, though. :mellow: Oh, and I'm gaining 4.5-4.7k gold an hour at 100% tax rate.
