For the record, I'm actually using a decent timescale (20 years~) to fully assimilate Indonesia. Retech decided that he/she....Retech decided that IT had control over Indonesia before the 5 years was even halfway over.

 

Now I'm countering Japan's occupation with my own peaceful occupation.

You never took Indonesia. You couldn't have at this point due to the thread only being 4 days old, where 5 years are required for annexation. Which is 10 days, for the record.

Also, what if two people want the same country? The annexing system doesn't work vert well, end of story. The only countries that I'm close to are the ones Japan also wants, for instance.

Exactly, that's why I'm asking them to stop you. Besides, Japan is a close pacific ally. If not for us, then Asia is basically the continent that sells stuff to the US.

I might pick another country to basically restart as though. It's nice not having to really pay attention to what's going on in the rest of the world, but Equatorial Guinea is a tad...weak.

Okay, so basically, Japan and Indonesia have been moving towards oneness for a while (at least, it's been a while in recent history). They're best buds, and are a single day from becoming a single country. Japan has invested all its surplus that was going to reduce the deficit into building infrastructure and schooling in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Australia is sending unarmed transports with soldiers to take over Indonesia. Don't you think Indonesia would defend itself?
