MMG is the CEO making him top dog :P though yes Andrew holds the majority of the shares in Runescape giving him the chance to sway the direction any way he pleases it is MMG who makes the real decisions when it comes down to the crunch I think....... Well actually it's generally a collaborated effort by MMG, Andrew and Paul, but I think MMG has more power than people let on.

And yes, he would be committing business suicide if he didn't answer questions with safe answers. It's not his place to reveal it, it's up to the employees to tell him what to say. The feeling I get from MMG is one of people orientated business which is brilliant.

My understanding is that Mod MMG doesn't get too involved in day-to-day activities and a lot of what Andrew does is technical development and co-ordination. I'm guessing this means a lot of the calls are made by people such as the Head of RuneScape, the Lead Designer and the Lead Content Developer. RuneScape's general direction is probably a combination of Jagex's shareholders (the Gowers, co-founder Tedder and the Insight Venture Partnership guys), MMG and the Head of RuneScape, etc - with Andrew's view having a lot of weight if he gives it.

This is what they want you to think, but MMG really cannot change Andrew's core policies. In the end he is hired and fired by someone, and that person is Andrew. MMG can make whatever day to day decisions he wants but on important points you know where the protocol lies.

There is definately more focus on the "community" with more leniency on communication, players' interactions & clan options. There has been more emphases on "quantity" of pmods too. All this has produced both praise and disgust, depending on the values of individual players. Only time will tell where this takes the game of RuneScape. I do hope it will prove honorable to the general populace and promote praise from real world parents of the young & naive who play..

I like the community Q & A's, and the fact that he says he has his own lvl 100 some player, and also him taking time to do things like a tehnoobshow episode are good for his image. A lot of his updates and changes have been for the better too.

Yews, that would be fine if in the Q&A he actually gave us some detail of what their goals are, what they are doing to show their commitment to the game, or anything other than the vague "we are commited" answers.

 

Ez, there has been little to complain about as there has been little to talk about. Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, administrate. Those who can't adiministrate are MMG.

 

Say what you want about Iddison. His policies, the advertising for members, the advertising in general, but if you were already a member and you paid them money, well you damn sure got some product.

Andrew and Paul are my guys personally. I completely missed the Iddison years however. I retired for what I thought would be life for 2+ years and came back at the beginning of Gerhard's run. So I have no idea waht to attribute to Iddison.

If I ever heard that Andrew and Paul were getting out of the company I'd be out. Jagex minus the Gowers would make me completely lose faith in them as a company.

I have a hard time seeing both the Gowers ever leave, mostly because they built this game from the ground up and made it into one of the biggest in the world.

 

If they ever both left, I think I'd stick around for awhile, possibly to see where the game was going and possibly to max my character. I think enough people have worked with them to understand what their vision is, however. I really want to play classic again, and from what I understand only Andrew and Paul know how to write content for that.

I do feel like some of the negative perceptions I had of Jagex went away (money hungry goblins) I now feel like Mod MG is to spacey and some of the things he's promised seam to not be of any solid value.

I don't know if it's a typo or whatever, but he is Mod MMG. The MMG stands for Mark Michael Gerhard.

To be honest, I didnt even know who Geoff was before he quit as CEO. :P

At the time, I just though Andrew was the only top guy for everything.

I personally like MMG better. He has a more friendlier vibe towards the players and the game. While he might not update as "good" as you guys would like, but cuz of my break I lost two years of updates so I'm all good until I catch up. :thumbsup:

He might be good for Runescape, but he's not exactly been great with Funorb

Pretty soon, people will just stop listening to his empty promises and quit, hell I'm half way there.
