What is street of divine and ely? I want to upgrade ely to divine.

There is no way that is right.

That would require ely be under a purple, which it isn't.

ely= ~ 85% of 1 pump

divine = ~3 pumps

They're being hoarded atm, you'll see many buy offers and few sell offers on forums

You may not want to accept it but it's true, I want a divine just as much myself.

Im seeing offers like green+onyx ring, and ely+purple, for divine. But it will be a few months until I go for a divine anyway.

I don't care how "rare" a divine/elysian is. If I had any Partyhat I would never trade it for an item you are able to accumulate more of whereas partyhats can NEVER come into the game again. To me, it's very stupid seeing trades like that.

It is also stupid to keep wealth in an item that does not do anything.

3.5m every 3.5 days looks pretty good to me.

With a Divine, I'd had made double that in 1 day at Arma solos. Status item or no status item, in the end it is just a pixel hat that can not bring me any enjoyment via gameplay.

I think this whole argument of "must have equipment" can be compared to buying a car. Say someone can get to work through mass transit within 30 minutes, and 20 minutes with a car. The argument there in lies that I will not be able to go to work without a personal vehicle and thus not make any money. I find this logic to be dumb and suggest buying whatever produces the most gp/time. Then again it is a game and feel free to spend that time having fun.

But you aren't actually making money until you sell it.

If you buy a shield you will continually make money with it even if you never sell it.

So a friend of mine has a mask set, and 2 santa's. Whats the best way to go about getting a party hat with those? More cash? Or a few more santas.

He can always keep buying santas, and hope for a strong buyout. 10 santas and a mask set might get him somewhere if santa's are 25m street over GE mid. If not, just buy with junk after a major item gets dumped. It's not that hard to get rid of junk, I figured.

3.5 per 3 days is horrible lmfao. I can make that by sellign phat and merching in like 1 day.

I challenge you to make 3.5m per 3 days without logging in an having members though

Edit: On another note, looking at the G.E charts, Green and Purple are only 4m apart, but in 180 days, Purple has risen an extra 10% than Green. There isn't much Between them at all.

A Divine shiled is just some pixels that make it easier to make more pixels.

Speaking as a Divine and 4-Phat owner, I already have all the pixels I need to solo things like Arma and collect more pixels. So of course I'm going to put some of my wealth into discontinued pixels that will always go up over time. Divines and all GWD items will come crashing down one day, but Phats won't.

Solo GWD Drops:

5 Bandos Plates, 4 Bandos Boots, 3 Bandos Hilts, 2 Arma Helms, Arma Skirt, Arma Plate, 3 Arma Hilts, 4 Zammy Spears, Steam Staff, 15 Sara Swords, 6 Sara Hilts, 29 Shards.

In my opinion, Phat is the equivalent of a 25 year treasury bill in real life terms. It yields very safe, but very slow profits. Anyone who is adept at merching can surely take that same cash, invest it over and over again into different items, and come out 5x richer than the a person starting out at the same point hoarding onto the phat. Example. While it is true a White Phat has rose from 310m to 426m in the past 180 days. If the same person had been constantly switching between items such as Godswords, 3rd age, and lower discontinued. Or if he had been a constant Barrows flipper. He would have made probably 3x as much as the white phat owner in terms of ge wealth (considering he has perfect information) Even without perfect information, if he is able to predict half of the rises and crashes on these items, he would have end up with around still twice as much profit compared to the White Phat owner. Lets compare the prices of all the Phats in terms of rises in percentages in the past 180 days:

Purple: 53.3%

Green: 45.5%

Yellow: 45.4%

Red: 41.2%

White: 35.9%

Blue: 27.8%

I'm sure a semi-decent merchant can double his cash in 180 days. Of course it becomes alot riskier as you have to do many market analysis amongst other things. But lets hold on a moment and consider this. What if this person had instead bought with his cash, a lower rare which wasn't yet bought out 180 days ago?

Santa: 161.6%

Green H'ween: 251.6%

Blue H'ween: 283.5%

Red H'ween: 243.8%

That is why imo, Phats at it's current state is nothing more than a status item and a bargaining chip. It is not the best investment for anyone to go to because simply it does not make enough money. Sure these lower items can prove alot riskier as shown by all of the masks/santa's numerous crashes through the past half a year. As well as GWD item and SS's crashes. But if a merchant is truly informed with the market and makes great decisions. I'm almost positive he can at least clear the 50% mark in 180 days.

(P.S. This is where we can see Chessey's genius as well. Instead of hoarding a bunch of phats, she went ahead and bought herself 2k Santas. Price Manipulation aside, that was one HELL of a move.)

Yes, It is true Phat has a higher true value. But first consider this. No item in this history of the GE has ever HIT the true value. In fact barely any item hit half of it's true value. Ex. Easter Eggs

2nd. say if Phats does reach true value. Which means a Purple will reach probably around 600m in GE. By the time that comes, it could be 3-4 years from now. Are you saying with the 352m currently mid price of Purple, you can not turn that into 600m via merch, monster hunt, or even just buying addy bars for mid price and selling it for 1gp above mid every day? 3-4 years from now, the Purple Phat will reach 600m. But the people who had 352m liquid cash to merch right now would have probably 2bil maxxed cash.

3rd. It has been shown in history that discontinued items does eventually fade out. When the price of the item becomes way too high for the average scaper to even care about. Phats has had 2 big crashes in Jagex history (If memory serves me correctly, I've quit for a while in the middle so one of the crashes I only heard from 2nd hand sources) If Phats take a hit say in 1 year, how long would it take to sell a crashing hat that does nothing but now LOSE gp? Sure you can hold onto it for half a year and wait for the LONG RUN rise. But "in the long-run, we're all dead." - John Keynes, Father of Macroeconomics.

Sure, in the long run, Phats and discontinued will be the ONLY items to increase in value. But I'm sure an avid merchant can use non-discontinued and make money at a much faster rate than someone who is just hoarding onto discontinued.

P.S. - Just to clarify, I'm not saying Phats are not a good investment. It is a very safe investment for diversification of assets. But to be able to make money at an avid rate, relying on Phats alone is not only foolish but will most likely result in you falling behind the curve instead of staying ahead of it.

In 3-4 years, a purple partyhat will be worth far more than 600m true price. They keep getting harder and harder to get, so if you like them, like I do, it is not unreasonable to try to nab them now while they're plentiful compared to what they will be years down the road.

If all you care about is GPs, you should stick with better methods, like flipping as you said. But for me, I only need about 150m more GP to max out all my character's stats, not counting all the money I'll make from mining, runecrafting, and the like. I simply have no use for more gp.

Question about prices: I have 3 onyx rings and a purple partyhat. How close am I to trading for a yellow?
