Partyhats are on the decline but they havn't crashed hard. They are being traded around amongest eachother such as upgrade and down grade. None are selling for 3rd age+cash or heavy junk+cash. The partyhat market does look like it's going to stay more stable than it has been now.

Looks like 3rd age melee is getting bought out...

Platelegs are in huge demand, plates buy but not at min so I expect these might be getting bought out as well soon. Not 100% sure about kites, but I think they are getting bought as well. Helms are still junk though.

Sleep on...fly on.

In your mind, you can fly.

In an ideal world without merch clans the plate would be 10-16mil, just because bandos pwns it. With merchs probably like 30mil

Haha, first trying to be cool with your 3rd age melee while it was crashing, and then selling it anyway. Kind of hypocrite?

Yup seems like merchants are trying very hard to buyout something but seem to be failing because they understanded how much of that item there was. I think their best bet is to stick with partyhats if they have them and if they don't then they are SOL because it'll take the people with partyhats to sell all theirs to even come close to a big item buyout that lasts longer than 24 hours.

I dont know what a "douche canoe" is.

I do know you call yourself a "collector of third age".

I don't wanna go all wannabe mod on you, but if you want to try and troll a specific individual, at least do it in PM so you don't embarrass yourself.

Anyways, I get the feeling like alot of merchants are heading to smaller items rather than the larger ones, since many of them are crashing.

Why does it have to be a "big item" buyout? It seems that their scheme would work with anything that has some demand and that is relatively rare. Of course, you want it to be big enough to make at least some money, but it doesn't have to be hundreds of mils. In fact, if you don't have enough to buy out items that big, smaller items should work just fine. For example, some months ago, the merchers ran the dfh up to some ridiculous number like 60m or something. Also, small rares are very easy to buy out because they don't cost that much. Seems to me that ranger boots would be an excellent buyout opportunity -- there's a natural demand because they're the best ranged boots, they're relatively cheap, and they're quite rare. Also, supply is inelastic since they can't be made. Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate price manipulation, but it's going to happen whether I advocate it or not. I just can't see why merching clans who are willing to do it would give it up just because they don't have enough money to buy out the big ticket items.

It wasn't merchants running up prices on DFH, it's because they were rare (only obtainable from mith drags) i guess there was a small amount of merchanting there, but it was mostly only because of the rarity of the item.

And once pvp worlds came out and they because obtainable there, many many more came into the game and drove down the prices :?

If you had your choice in investing in a rare item that deminish everyday or an item that has more and more come into the market everyday which would you pick? It's obvious which one you'd pick. As I have said before and will said again I could care less if my partyhat is 10M or 200M I like it and I quit caring whether or not I make or lose money on it and I only talk about it because it's the truth in no way do I try to manipulate prices.

As for pumkins, discs, and easters they have been bought out for months most big time merchants have hundreds of them atm and they just started rising. They are one of the best items because the majority of the public never wanted them so there arn't many other there that arn't in the merchants banks.

So it sounds like your advice to merchants would be to move into halloween masks and santas. They're rare and getting more rare. They're not bought out yet, but it's very possible to buy them out. Plus, unlike the other small rares you cite, they (like partyhats) have a natural demand because they can be worn.

They've sucessfully bought out masks and santa's before but nothing to the extent of 3rd age or the 3 smaller rares because the public has alot of them too so the merchants can't control the entire market.

A good buyout would consist of:

A. ALOT of money willing to be invested

B. Rare item with some natural demand

However a great buyout would consist of:

A. ALOT of money willing to be invested

B. Rare item with some natural demand

C. Item that the public does not have alot of

C is all the seperates the good from the great and it was shown perfectly with 3rd age and now with the 3 lowest rares. As for santas and masks it'd be hard to control them because alot of people own them for outfits, goals, etc. As for partyhats there are alot out in the public but the people who can afford them tend to keep them and not sell when they start gettign bought out unlike some santa and mask owning players.

3rd age has been bought out twice so far, and its still crashing lol, could have been more than twice too, but i guess i havent noticed.

and if your talking about how 3rd age became expensive at first then i guess thats how all items rise in price which would be a buyout which wouldnt be manipulating on purpose.
