Okay whats up?

I had a question that I know I'm going to get many replies for and some are probably not going to really suit but anyway I had a question. To start out, I'm 16 in 10th grade but that's not the point my best friend's birthday is coming up in April now me being a guy and her being a girl, I was having some trouble thinking of what to get. The question is, if you were a girl, and you were my bestfriend while your birthday is coming up, what would you want from me? Now, I thought getting an iTouch would be good but I couldn't really find a way to make 200 Usd in a little bit less than two months. Now, hear me out, I'm not asking for money, but either a way to come up with it OR something that would be good to get. If you can think of anything, thanks in advance!

Get a job? I heard that gets you money, but I'm not too sure...

DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO?!?!

Get a job, or get her something that won't cost so much. Like a good book or a movie.

Remember, you guys aren't adults. Teenagers can't just buy expensive-[wagon] gifts for each other. Buy her a 20-30 dollar gift of something she likes...a cute teddy bear, I don't know. But an iTouch? Jesus*.

I can't say I've bought my friends birthday presents since I was like 10 and they were still having like real birthday parties. Granted I'm not really good friends with any girls, so that could be the difference.

I know I'd never buy a friend something that expensive. Unless you're trying to get something more out of the relationship, which I would say still doesn't mean you should spend that much.

If only an iTouch was real *iPod Touch*. Honestly don't waste your money. Buy her something under $50 if you really want to get her something. Also try to be more meaningful and original with your gift then something so generic as an iPod which is more of a gift a parent would give. For my best friend who also happens to be girl I usually make her a cake and decorate it specially for her and give her a card with a meaningful message and usually take her out to dinner or something but yet again I'm also 21 so what I can do is probably is a little more then someone your age could. I mean could also go and buy her something absolutely amazing yet at the end of the day it doesn't really matter what I get her we are still going to continue to be great friends regardless if I get her anything.

Tbh I'd say chocolates. Nothing goes down as well with a girl as chocolates. Either nice fancy ones or a LOAD of maybe cheaper ones that she likes. Like a huge [wagon] bar or something *drools*

If that doesn't fit then I'd say either a book or a film. Find out what sort of films/books she likes and try to get something along those lines.

Seriously don't waste your money on something so expensive as an iPod Touch.

Well, first of all, ditch the iPod Touch. You've got until April, so think of something cheaper and more original.

A nice card with an iTunes gift card?

Thats what i'm planning on.

Im in the same situation, me and her share a birthday and quite good friends.

I don't think i've spent that much even on family at one time. Go for something cheaper but with more thought.

Alright, here's what you do. You get a box....

Nah, get a CD or something of a band she likes. It's cheap, she'll like it, badaboom.

Dime bag.

Although you can't go wrong with something [bleep]ing cool. Or shiny. Girls like shiny [cabbage]. (I do too). Or, sixteenth birthday it is? [bleep]ing fuzzy dice, broski!

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Alright, here's what you do. You get a box....

I came here to say that >:(

The difficult part will be finding out if she prefers pizza or popcorn.

Alright, here's what you do. You get a box....

... and in that box is your hand-made cake, which is her favourite kind and that you toiled away in the kitchen to make for her. Have a piece already cut and take it as soon as you get the opportunity.

Cash.

It normally works out really nice if you're really having a hard time. You could also get something cheap like a teddy bear and give cash also, then you'll have the nice cute gift and something else for that person.

Make a cake and color the frosting all sorts of bright colors, it's what my roommates and I do for all our friends birthdays and they absolutely love it. Then again we make layered cakes and have a cake decorating kit so...But yeah, if you get her a $200 gift she'll feel almost as if you're proposing to her (at least that's how it would be around here).

May the presents of our lord and savior, Santa, be with you this holiday season!

I see cash as a suggestion. is it just me or does cash seem kind of...thoughtless? I understand people need money, but accepting straight up cash just seems inappropriate to me. Gift cards aren't that much better. I say actual tangible objects are better. She's your best friend I'm sure you can think of something that she wants. I have a female friend that loves skull candy headphones but has not nearly enough money to get them. What do you think I'm getting her for her birthday next month? hmm?

Gifts are cash reminds me of bribery. So, not a really good gift in my opinion.

Bake her something. Get her doughnuts, chocolate, something, but not something over $30. You'll come off like a total loser if you blow 200 dollars on a gift to someone you don't even know that well (I'm assuming you two aren't dating, so there's no basis to go all out on a gift).
