April 18, 201016 yr This thread was first about me needing background music for a documentary, but now that I have it, this thread can just be about any gay music. Post away! [hide=old thread]Hi. I'm currently working on a documentary about gays, and need some background music. Any music you think that fits the title is great, a combination of a succesful gay artist and a song that encourages accepting the different is absolutly blessed. Thanks guys :). EDIT: Simply list the name of the song, and the name of the singer/band/etc.[/hide] And keep it clean :geek: !
April 18, 201016 yr Probably something by Elton John. I don't listen to him really, he sounds good when I do hear him, and he's gay.
April 18, 201016 yr Queen comes to mind. Want to be my friend? Look under my name to the left<<< and click the 'Add as friend' button!Big thanks to Stevepole for the signature!^

April 19, 201016 yr My Chemical Romance? Um can't think of any off the top of my head, but you could try Judas Preist, their singer Rob Halford is gay, although he didn't come out until recent-ishly, so I'm not sure if any of their songs would address that subject. George Michael is another that comes to mind.
April 19, 201016 yr Anything with the weird "Gaahl" i guess. J'adore aussi le sexe et les snuff moviesJe trouve que ce sont des purs moments de vieJe ne me reconnais plus dans les gensJe suis juste un cas désespérantEt comme personne ne viendra me réclamerJe terminerai comme un objet retrouvé
April 19, 201016 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twQlpFrm5iM&feature=fvste1 Just put that on repeat and alternate scenes from your documentary with fragments of the video. You're welcome. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.
April 20, 201016 yr Village people? YMCA? Anybody? it doesn't get much more flamboyant than that. what kind of impact are you looking for? I can't imagine Judas Priest opening a documentary on homosexual opression Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. Anyone who likes logic is incapable of tacos. April 20, 201016 yr Author To help you understand what kind of music is required, I'll explain a bit about the documentay. Basically, it's about the ill-view of the public on gays. We decided to work on that documentary after a guy and a girl were murdered for their sexual orientation. The documentary revolves mostly around the Ministry of Education, as we figured it's their job to encourage awareness. So, things like YMCA don't fit well here.
April 20, 201016 yr Queen comes to mind. When people say "gay musicians" (with talent, which seems to be rarer and rarer) they're all that comes to mind. "Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security." Support transparency... and by extension, freedom and democracy.
April 20, 201016 yr Um can't think of any off the top of my head, but you could try Judas Preist, their singer Rob Halford is gay, although he didn't come out until recent-ishly, so I'm not sure if any of their songs would address that subject. From what I've read they do. I'll have to find the title of the song again though...Apparently one song is "Raw Deal". Granted, my source is Tv Tropes, but still. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr

April 20, 201016 yr Author The videos are great, but remember we only use the sound, the documentary itsef is (and I say that with great pride :D) almost completely editted and done with. Oh, and we prefer very-very known pieces, as we wish to ring a bell rather than make the viewer listen to the exact words. Thanks for the effort though, I appriciate it ;).
April 21, 201016 yr Scissor Sisters. They don't like being called a 'gay band', but they used to play regularly at gay bars and a lot of my homosexual friends like their songs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPwc-DpVFdc POH Agility Course, Please Support!
April 21, 201016 yr Queen comes to mind. When people say "gay musicians" (with talent, which seems to be rarer and rarer) they're all that comes to mind. You do realise that only Freddy Mercury was gay? And how can someone like Elton John not come to mind? He is one of the most talented musicians in the world!
April 21, 201016 yr Relax - Frankie Goes To Hollywood. I'm telling you now, this is all you will need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPLrXFw76Qg
April 21, 201016 yr Justin Beiber. [/troll] But seriously, for music made by gay artists, you can't beat Queen. And yeah, only FM was gay, but he was the face, the persona, the sound of Queen - I think that's good enough. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
April 21, 201016 yr The Magnetic Fields. Song: Take Ecstasy With Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_GzdN9ouYE Antony and the Johnsons Song: Cripple and the Starfish http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2IOHGlXMv4 Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
April 22, 201016 yr t.A.T.u. are pretty decent and quite well-known. Edit: Just read they're actually not lesbians contrary to what I thought.. Sorry! Cool.
April 22, 201016 yr Streets of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen is an absolutely blinding song and was written for the film Philadelphia, which deals with HIV/AIDS and homophobia. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
April 24, 201016 yr Author We already have all the background music we need :). Thanks everybody. Main post updated.
April 24, 201016 yr I pretty much burst into flames listening to Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy (Queen)
April 25, 201016 yr Probably something by Elton John. I don't listen to him really, he sounds good when I do hear him, and he's gay. ewwwww.
