Cheers. 2000, and just under $5000 NZD. I'm not sure exactly what model it is, it's not a B4 as far as I can tell, and it's New Zealand New. I haven't really seen many like it around here.

Looking at prices over here for 2000 Legacys, I think you got a steal. They're anywhere from $1000-3000 more here. Subarus are great cars; I'm sure you'll enjoy it, especially if you get snow where you live.

Yeah, it was probably under priced by at least $1000, the guy who sold it to me was moving to Australia to retire so we worked out a quick deal. It's pretty nice to drive, cruise control is pretty good for the long drive home.

Yeah. I got my car very cheap too for the same reason. It's important to ask the seller why he/she is selling the car.

1 of the sellers told me he was going to move out of state and even bothered to show me the plane tickets to

prove it. The best part about buying it second hand is negotiating the prices which saves you a heck of a lot of money. Most people

who own cars are honest too and sometimes hook you up with a history report of the car their selling.

I never once had any problems when searching for a used car. It's mostly dealers who tries to set you up

but other than that, they're worth it. My second car is definitely going to be used and from a private individual. I won't be getting

new for a very long time since I personally think it's a big waste of money unless you're intending to keep that car

for pretty much your whole life to cover your investment.

Yeah well you know he problem with buying from a dealer is that they obviously have to look out for themselves, so have to make money off selling the car so will naturally put the price up. Also where I live, the vehicle has to have a current warrant of fitness and registration etc, which means they pass that cost onto you. As long as you're careful and do some research before you buy second hand, you should be fine.

That feel when you change your oil in a parking lot dodging people coming in and out of the parking space next to you.

In a parking lot? Why'd you do it there.

I think I might need to change my oil soon, but I don't really have anywhere to do it. Plus I've never done it before, but I figured it can't be that hard.

It's not; you only really need a pit-like hole you can stand in with your car straddled over it. You don't ever want to jack your car up just to change the oil, it's too dangerous even with jackstands because they can slip.

That's what I mean, it's not like I have somewhere like that available to me. I don't even have a driveway were I flat. I figured I'd go to my friends or something and try crawl under the car lol.

Hand brake

Park, 1st or reverse

It won't go anywhere...

Most cars you can just reach under to drain, it all depends on the filter location really. I do almost all of my repairs in the parking lot, because I have no other place to do them and they need to get done sometimes.

I say it's a great car for the money and is good at what it does best (straight line speed), and I've heard it handles relatively well but has terrible steering feel, massive torque steer because FWD + ~240lb/ft tq, understeer like a [kitty] due to a puny 17mm rear sway, and brake fade AND hop during prolonged use (like on a track).

But my biggest gripe is that 90% of the owners are total douchebags who will try to race ANYTHING that moves.

Kind of feel like selling my car and buying a truck. I really want a Hilux for some reason.

This is probably a stupid idea though.

I'll buy your car. You'll ship it to Canada, right?
