December 4, 201114 yr When my local store is ten minutes away from closing, I walk up to the front door expecting it to slide open for me, only to realise the door has been locked shut. It annoys me more that my visit would have lasted no longer than three minutes, considering I knew exactly what I needed, where it was located, and how much it would cost me, so there's no chance I would have kept the staff waiting beyond their finishing time. People that choose to walk away from or ignore an argument. I would much rather each thing be resolved as it comes up, and that can't happen if you're not willing to discuss it reasonably or at all. It really does depend on whether the argument in itself has any inherent value - an argument about abortion is less relevant to a non parent as opposed to an argument about the value of education, which pertains towards life in general. I can understand why people may shy away from controversy - but it does depend on context and content. I dislike the fact that trolls actually believe that they're good at trolling - many times, they're simply using that as an excuse in an attempt to shrug off a failed argument. Bah.

He responded 'No I mean why are you doing English when you already speak it, seems stupid to me'. He honestly thought that I had been learning to speak English on my A-Level course and Degree, despite it being my native language. He's not even the only one who has asked me this.
