Especially when they're screwing over 95% of the people for no reason other than to get attention. I was a class clown myself, but at least I was tact about it. For those that did act like a total idiot and didn't get the message, it usually isn't hard to force it into their brains.

I *hate* that. It's less less what you think and more like telling them what they want to hear (or read in this case). I don't get how people still have their jobs for wording them so terribly.

Because it sounds ancient and outdated and seems to be used by people in certain regions of the South?

 

My mother uses both that and 'dinner'. I wish she'd stick to just 'dinner' because 'supper' sounds gross and ugly.

Weird, we use that here. Although we also use the old french as well.

I know some stick to one and others will use both. I think 'dinner' is a better word because it sounds more modern and 'supper' being opposite and makes it sound like a feast for some reason.

 

Don't ask me. I'm just weird when it comes to thinking about words.

I also hate "brunch". It sounds terrible, and I have not, nor do I know anyone that has ever had brunch.
