As Albel was saying about the service, a bunch of my friends were just complaining about AT&T today on Facebook.

 

But then again, this thread's about the iPhone.

 

I'm truly blown away by the products Apple manages to come up with. Notice how most of the "touchscreen phones" came out AFTER the iPhone was released. I have my facts entirely wrong, but to me it seems everyone COPIES the iPhone. Kudos to Apple for being the first to make stuff popular.

 

If I had enough money, I'd buy the iPhone after a few months (to get all the bugs and whatnot sorted out).

Video calling = yum! Other stuff looks neat too. My dad has already proclaimed that he'll be getting one. I'd like one as well but I probably won't be getting one unless my dad offers me one :P

When I had an android (before my sister stole it and broke it, forcing me back to my old one) It was epic. easy to use, loading data in/out was a breeze and it worked perfectly fine for me.

That doesn't mean that you should get an iPhone though. It's like Internet Explorer, it's what made desktop browsing popular, but it's no longer the best way to go about it.

 

Thinking about getting an Android phone, the prices seem far more reasonable and has much more potential because it's not limited by Apple.

Count me in the cheap phone camp. I want my mobile phone for phone calls & that's all. Ninety percent of the time, I just let it go to voicemail.

 

I don't understand the infatuation with the iPhone, much less the rest of the stuff the Cult of Apple fawns over.

 

I particularly hate all things to do with smartphones, because of their sucking down of UHF bandwidth that could be better used by terrestrial digital television.

Im only interested if it has a lot of space for music. If it's at least 8GB, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.

 

Edit: 16/32GB.. How much of that can be used for music?

I've got the 32gb and about 29-30gb is free to use for whatever. I wish I went with the 16gb instead though, since I've got Spotify on it.

 

I probably couldn't do with another smartphone after having an iPhone for half a year. The touch screen is simply hands down the best around. I've played around with some Android phones (one being the new Desire) and it's just way too choppy for me. The open source stuff and the less regulated app store on the Androids is a good concept, but when the top apps are porn stuff I feel like Apple has the right idea anyway (I'd still like more open source capabilities though).

 

I'll wait for when they release the iPhone 4S next summer before buying a new one though. I really want that camera flash.

Tbh I would prefer an iPhone over any other phone any day just because of the ease of use and how slick it looks. When i got my 3g like just over a year ago, people would always be an awe. now I want the 4g version, then they will just fall unconsious at the sight :P

 

And I don't get people's problem with iTunes. I personally hate every product of apple bar the iPhone, Safari and iTunes. I don't see why it would slow people's comps down, maybe you should just upgrade a bit? :P

Although I must admit, if Android can fix their market, the EVO will most likely surpass the iphone. But idk yet. No one knows yet.

The only thing remotely impressive about it is shooting hd video. The whole front facing camera thing isn't impressive at all, it should have been included in the first model.

 

Edit: The screen resolution is somewhat impressive actually.

No point in me paying $200+ for a phone when all I use a phone for is calls/texts. A lot of cheaper options that fit my needs along with better service. All of my friends that have an iphone at college have to borrow my phone because they don't get service in some places.

The Droid player? Umm, what is that? Have you ever used one? You just select "mount" on your phone right when you plug it in and it acts as a USB, it's the easiest damn thing ever. Apple products make you use their garbage for everything (i.e. iPods and iTunes).

 

 

 

Ive used a few smartphones when I decided on my phone, and the Droid is honestly the best out there (Haven't tried the Incredible but it doesnt have a physical keyboard, so no thanks.)

 

Uhh vut? At that point is plain opinion, I love the idea of itunes, and with all the droid phones I've used, syncing with a comp is a nightmare. It's most certainly not just plug in. Lots of times windows won't let you transfer certain items, I remember for one thing I had to take the sd card out of my phone, and put it in a card reader, then plug into the comp. That was to transfer a music video or something. (which I ended up not even using because my phones media system is so deplorable I cbf'd.

 

 

But in reality I guess all it boils down to (imo) which type of phone your looking for. Are you looking for a mac type phone, with the emphasis on usability, sleekness, amazing graphics, and STILL very useful. Or a productivity oriented phone (I guess thats what I'd label android)

 

I personally am a mac kinda person (iphone style)

 

Also, I don't know if this was intentional, but you said Apple makes you use ipods. K. lol thats why I bought one :XD:

The keyboard is so small that my mind crapped out on me when I tried sending a joke text using my friend's blackberry:

I owned a BB curve 8900 before I got g1, OH MY GOD THE KEYBOARD. It's smaller than the one on my laptop >.> (inside joke tbh)

 

I mean I don't mean to be bashing on BB's, they were an important contribution to smartphones today, but they just can't compete unless they're all revamped.
