Ye Olde Hegemony

Retech

Recommended Posts

Half-Decade starts after two more battle reports.

The Pope makes an offer to the HRE and Leon. If they acknowledge publicly that the pope is the supreme authority of god on Earth, and they replace their nobles with religious orders, then the pope will give them the money to repair their infrastructures. The nobles would then head off to the Holy land for another crusade.

The Pope also makes an offer to France and Kiev, that the Pope will pay their infrastructures if they acknowledge publicly that the pope is the supreme authority (since they received less damage from the wars).

Spain already recognizes the Pope as the authority of God, but it won't replace its nobles with religious orders (which are already in Spain...). It'll set up the Inquisition for the Pope though.

--

I'm just annoyed that my infrastructure dropped by half when I've only fought a single battle on my land, whereas Rocco has gotten invaded like 3 times and his only dropped to .6! Gr.

Crete thanks the great Empire of [/Dusty] for their guarentee of independence. Crete immediately begins leaning on Egypt, hoping to extract concessions for their great overlord Dusty the Benevolent.

Also, Retech, can you update me on what has changed in regards to the game rules and on my various projects. Thanks in advance.

Lol, are you saying you're now my vassal?

I wouldn't go that far, but I am willing to send my Daughter(or Son) to marry one of your children to strengthen the bonds between your Great Nation..and my Island Nation.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

The Pope is filled with grand notions of the genocide of thousands of Muslims, and raises some funds from its immense followings, to rebuild Spain. Of course, he'll expect you to be successful in the purges and to kill, kill, kill! (He's rather blood thirsty)

I've actually been thinking about it, and here's what I've come up with. Basically infrastructure no longer affects your IEG directly, but instead affects economy, though not necessarily instantly. Basically if you have a crappy infrastructure, then naturally people will have a hard time getting goods to market, etc etc. Also, infrastructure affects the speed of your troops across your country, meaning that say during the Norman invasion of England way back when, the Saxon forces would not have been able to fight back the vikings and speed back to fight the Normans if their infrastructure was too low.

So there's my pretty solution.

My main motivation was that I didn't want invading to become too easy, but it shouldn't be prohibitively so, especially with the increased pace of budgets. I think economy would do enough counterbalance against overexpansion.

My last two millions goes into reparing infrastructure.

So France has an IEG of 20 and a budget of 0 now. Well for like I dunno a day or so.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

I didn't catch fire, I used the can of hairspray as a flamethrower and pointed it at my arm.

Mongols won't have ships until the second wave, which is still a ways off. I still have to figure out a system for ship costs though!

Ummm, I don't quite remember many rule changes. Anyone think of one?

1) Military schools rock.

2) Cool people use spies.

3) Don't [censor] with my Hlaupari.

Crete laughs at the petty European countries, after getting approval from [/Dusty]

Iceland hopes that the laughter isn't directed at His Most Dubiously Honourable Highness of Orloglom.

Mongols won't have ships until the second wave, which is still a ways off. I still have to figure out a system for ship costs though!

Hahaha! And by then, my Hlaupari will be complete! They will have the necessary means to...

*ahem*

I mean, oh no! Ships!

So, I know you were all morons last round and wanted to do your own thing (Wtf) but here's what I want to do (posted it last time but was ignored):

The plan is to invite them towards our castle, but leaving a warband as bait, to bring them close. The warband will be the fastest troops we have. I believe that Nex is using his Hlaupari (sp) in this, so they will do this purpose. Likewise, the ground around the castle will be rigged with traps lain by the Burgundian men. Once the Mongols are in dissarray, the footsoldiers of the European Coalition will sally out and begin the slaughter.

'Tis I, 'tis Vindice, 'tis I!

I'm already going by those rules. You can count on my Hlaupari support.

Currently, bands of 200 are roaming Kiev searching for targets of opporunity, and opportunities to lead their targets towards allied defences.

They're probably going for Hungary and Kiev.

Also, look what happened to me when you stay in a static position.

Because you were in open ground, on a hill, where you waited for them to kill you...

The whole point of this plan is to trap the Mongol army and so they're the ones who are waiting to be killed while being encircled by our troops.

If you defend your castle, they will probably go out of range of your archers, and just shoot down your walls with their gunpowder.

Then run rampant in your cities. I recommend hiding a force near the city, so when they retreat for their gunpowder units, your guys charge them.
