To honestly answer your question, it's all personal preference.

 

What is your personal preference?

 

Ancient Cavern (Kuradal)

Blocked: Iron, Steel and Black Dragons, Black Demons. Less hassle, less money wast for food/pot. Got to block them lol.

 

I don't really cancel much though.

Waterfiends - take too long and are quite frustrating over a long period of time

Living rock creatures - these too, take wayyy too long

Black demons - great exp up to level 99 slayer, but I get sick of them real fast, not too many great drops and I don't need slay exp anymore

Skeletal wyverns - they hit too much, I never get anything good from them, and I have to make atleast 2-3 bank trips per task

Fire giants - lame drops (I don't do rune drops, sorry) can hardly ever find a quiet spot and even if I do, the bad drops just make me wanna cancel the task because it's a waste of my time anyway

 

Other tasks I'd love to perma ignore would be:

 

Kalphite - always crowded, horrible spawns, lame drops and take ages

Hellhounds - no good drops apart from effigies (and clues I never do coz after 100+ level 3 clues I've only had 2 rewards worth over 1M) they hit often, and are a waste of my time

Suqah - too long to get to the location and lame drops apart from the blue charms, which isn't a great enough incentive for me to wanna like the task

Bloodveld - lame drops

Warped tortoises - great drops, but ALWAYS crowded. Hopped worlds about 30 times once and just gave up in the end. If it wasn't always crowded I would be OK with this task.

Greater demons - always crowded, not enough good drops

Black dragons - access to them takes too long, they're always crowded, just take too long to kill for their drops and I've never had a visage or anything spectacular from them

Jungle strykewyrms - time it takes to pop up each monster makes the task very long, and I've only had 1 hexcrest in more than 2k kills, worse than whip drop rate

Desert strykewyrms - same as above ^ and only 2 focus sights in more than 4k kills, this too is worse than the whip drop rate

Terror dogs - hit unbelievably hard for their level and no spectacular drops

 

Yeah that's pretty much it.

I block terror dogs, kalphites, steel and black drags and, wyverns.

 

I cancel jungle strykes, tzhaar, and tortoises. I'll more infrequently cancel lrc creatures, black demons, and spiritual mages, tasks I sometimes just don't feel up to.

Mithril Dragon - A task takes 15 mins but in that time I can get about 10k slayer xp elsewhere.

Teror Dog - Again, fast task but crap xp. They also hit very hard.

TzHaar - Don't need obby charms, almost no drops.

Black Dragon - Fast task if I cannon, but crap xp and I'm over killing dragons for visage.

Jungle Strykewyrm - Clicking to lure them out is annoying, crap xp.

Desert Strykewyrm - Ditto.

Iron Dragon - I can do em fast with super antifires but they aren't great xp and as said before visage is too rare.

Steel Dragon - Ditto.

Spiritual Mage - Yes they give boots but the xp is crap and I want to powerslay.

Blue Dragon - Don't have a pack yak for the drops, average xp.

 

The tasks I do is mainly good xp and/or good charms.

Living rock creatures - slow and too spread out.

 

Kalphites - spawn way too slowly.

 

Suqahs - I don't slay on lunars.

 

I'm thinking about blocking warped torts. No idea what my last block will be now that I have super antifires and extremes.

Last time I did a Jad task it took about 35 minutes. Used like one extreme set, a dose of overload, a couple brews, and a dozen prayer potions.

How do you kill the 360s that fast? And anyway, it's still the worst task in terms of combat xp and drops, no chance of effigies and guaranteed loss, and if you happen to fail the task....

Melee them, when they launch their mage attack hit them once and then step out of reach again. Claw specs + spec rests also help a lot. If the caves take about 40 mins thats like 55k xp/h, and it's fun to collect fire capes :P

 

Kaan's post is pretty good too although I would say you went pretty overboard on the dragons, once you have rapier/antifires/yak theyre really worth doing (for blues you only need yak). Also terror dogs arent actually bad xp, its mostly the loss of turmoil that makes them a bit slow but they're still not that bad.

Ok well I've changed my block list again

 

Jungle Strykewyrm - Luring them out, boring.

Desert Strykewyrm - Luring them out, boring.

Ice Strykewyrm - Same as above, I don't care if they drop SoL or give massive XP, I hate the task.

Warped Tortoise - Only 2 tortoises, always spot taken.

Skeletal Wyvern - They are awesome crimsons, probably same as waterfiends if you cannon but I don't like doing it.

 

Basically block the tasks you don't like guys.

tbh, im only on my like 65th task in a row, so i dont have anything blocked atm... But as i get them

Wyverns, Suqahs, probably irons, black demons, and jungle strykes.

Just personal preference... just be bothered luring them out each time. Prob a bad task for lazy people like me :P

I just reached 93 slayer and would at least like to try them rather than block em right away.

I cant slay them myself, but I know what gear I would recommend :mellow:

 

Helm: Full Slayer Helm (obviously)

Body: Ahrims

Legs: Ahrims

Boots: Infinity

Gloves: Barrows

Weapon: Staff of Light/ Chaotic Staff if you want to be a bit faster and spend alot more

Sheild: Arcane Shield>Unholy Book>Mage Book

Ring:Seers(i)>Onyx(i)>Dstone(i)>Seers

Amulet: Arcane Stream>Fury

 

Basically you'll want normal mage gear, except unholy book will be more useful than a mage book, because you'll be praying mage the whole time. You'll probably want to use wolpertinger and some scrolls too if you have 92+ summoning, otherwise idk what familiar to use.

Nevermind, pwned em with cannon and melee!

My own block list right now:

 

Aquanites (stupidly unlocked them thinking unicorn scroll healing would cover my ass, didn't come close with my luck)

Hellhounds (boring, and I shy away from cannoning almost all the time, although I might unblock with the new dungeon)

 

More tasks to be blocked later depending on how irritating some of them get. If I see terror dogs or kalphites once, they're going on the list.

 

I use Kuradal for my tasks, and I tend to cancel tasks at will, depending on if I want to do them at that moment or not. Generally, it doesn't matter what the task is, if I've done it recently, I'll probably end up canceling. Even spirit mages. I don't like blue dragons much either, extremely crowded from my personal experience, although I should look around more.

 

I love metal dragons and wyverns, though. The task length doesn't bother me at all.

Yeah I'm thinkin about cancelling Jungles and Desert worms.. IT IS annoying.. and the drops don't make up for them anymore. However, I think it's craziness to block Icies.. They're annoying too but the slayer/mage xp is pretty insane.

I was told to cancel Ice Strykes but actually enjoy them :) (Although, no staff of light yet :P)
