Bows
"Kidnapping" is a strong word, I prefer to think of it as "Surprise adoption." Now that I have your attention, this question ran through my mind today: Why do criminals, sexual predators, evil villains, etc. do the things that they do? I understand some are criminally insane, blah blah blah, but a lot aren't. Any speculation as to why some randomly do these things, and what could possibly be going through their minds at the time? Ieyfura
When referring to the sane ones (never knew sane people did this crap), there could be a number of factors involved. Ex. Someone might kidnap a rich man's daughter in order to get rich. Greed fuels that kind of crime. Ex2. A mother/father is unfit to care for their child, and the child is taken from them. Even though it wouldn't be in the child's best interest, the parent might kidnap their child with twisted love as a motive. In the ordeal about sexual predators, I honestly can't think of a sane motive. They're all perverse to me, and I don't think there has ever been a 'sane' case other than they're attracted to younger people? I have no clue to be honest. Romy
Morals, as well as social, are also individual. What one sees as unspeakable, the other could see as productive, etc. That's all there's to it. "Their" (as if there's a group of us and them...) morals are just different. I think it's best if you change your title. It's probably a not a very good idea to have misleading titles. Tim
I cant speak much for rapists or murderers, but for people, especially young who resort to stealing, it's because they give up hope in humanity, humanity gave up on them and they cant find any other option out. I've been with people like this, their parents abandon them for one reason or another, no one will help them and in the end they resort to stealing to try and afford a education and a life that they lost. I know how it feels, I've personally come too close to this countless times, most commonly this year. Think about it, everything you have ripped away from you by force, no one can help you, no one will trust you nor can you trust them, you need money to push forward in life, but no one will give you that chance. It's not a good feeling. :( Popoto.~<
angel13
The "laws" within a single person's own world would be "chaos" in another person's. Basically, the way we each think individually is different from everyone else, so even though we "sane" people may not be able to fathom why these people take part in such actions as kidnapping or rape, it makes perfect sense within the criminal's own mind. K112
Put simply, for kicks. It's the same reason people do drugs or steal or murder or anything like that. It seems ok to them so they'll do it for some fun. Some might say for adventure, for exalmple I want to rob a bank at some point, not for the money (which i'd consider giving back  ) but instead for the adventure and the rush. Obviously this would still make me a thief but that's not the point. Choas is the same as fun really, it just causes more panic or excitement, depending on who's side you're on. Sy_Accursed
There not really an over archiung reason x y z.They do it because they have a motive and feel no other way to deal with things through a failing of social upbringing or a disregard for rules and human life. Saru Inc
cbf to read all the posts, inbtwn the op: Some people, have an overactive part of the brain, that receives mass amounts of endorphins, when they do something they know is illegal. Others, such as psychopaths, and ones with conduct disorder honestly can't help it. In a psychopath's case, they are unable to essentially tell right from wrong. SO when they kill someone, they just do. They don't see what the big deal is, because their brain is unable to establish the concept of guilt. But people like me, I just do what I have to do to get ahead. If I have to break the law, then I'll break it. But I'm not going to go out of my way to break it. anonymous1234
I think instead of making up theories that we aren't sure are true or not, we should be asking real rapists and murderers. Everybody's reason is different.
Saru Inc
I think instead of making up theories that we aren't sure are true or not, we should be asking real rapists and murderers. Everybody's reason is different. Not true. The criminal mind, tends to be the same more often than not. There are certain experiences in one's life, that WILL lead to someone being a serial killer/rapist, or at the very least a definite criminal. Also, there are certain things most criminals do, they are more similar to each other than most people realize. (And I'm confused about that last part, of course we've asked criminals, thats partly how "we" know this) I have all the 99s, and have been playing since 2001. The problem with asking criminals why they committed a crime is that they most likely will either say they are innocent, or they don't know why they did it. Those who do respond with real answers can't be trusted, because they could be intelligent and make a story up to convince analysts of a certain cause. It's really difficult to get good answers, but it can be better than just guessing.
fastortoise
I always wondered what it would be like to kill a man, I guess that's the seed thought that leads to serial murders. I obviously have no intention to kill anybody (unless, of course, they look at me funny), but the thought is there. :ohnoes:
michel555555
There are lots of reasons why. Someone might steal food or money for survival - kill or be killed. Petty theft like candy and other small items might be stolen because people think that it does no harm and don't want to spend time waiting in line and/or pay money for it. Then there are the people who steal because they get a rush out of it. There is a condition where people are addicted to stealing, can't remember what it is called at the moment. But basically people get adicted to the rush that comes from stealing and getting away with it. Some even actually suffer from withdrawl when they don't steal and have arms and hands twitch when they are in a store. Murderers and rapists i have no clue why they do the things they do. [spoiler=click you know you wanna]Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
Alg
^ Kleptomania? Necessity, in the case of some theft and self-defense violence. Feeling of power/control in the case of rapes and some murders. Or pleasure. Maybe even pleasure as a result of power. Profit in the case of many thefts and some murders as well. You even have revenge murders from time to time as well. Probably dead wrong for most of these. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
