Is a Fury really worth the money?

Featured Replies

Alot of people say that if you have the cash you should get a fury. I've compared it's stats to a glory --> +40 def, + 2 str bonus, + 2 prayer bonus. I don't really need the defence since I heal with guthans, normally I don't use prayer on tasks (since I can't use piety), so when I do use prayer i'll get a holy symbol (+8) and +2 str is not alot for 16mill. Also I can buy alot of potions or train alot of other skills for 16 million.

Still my question is, should I get a fury with my stats or is there a better way to spend my (currently) 30mill?

Best stat boosting amulet in the game for all combat stats. Well worth it for me... if you got 30m then that still leaves u with a considerable amount left to buy any supplies u need. I say get it.

I'll never sell mine and never would consider it.

Fury is worth it if you already got all other gear down, i'd get Bandos Chest/Tassets over Fury any day though.

It's worth as much as it is because of how hard it is to obtain one and the fact that it's the best amulet available for melee combat, and most of the people that use them won't even consider the small cost. Weather you should or not buy one really depends on your other needs aswell, so it'd be hard to give a definitive answer to a question like this.

i sold mine while they were rising for 5.6mil and i've had regrets ever since.. the only reason i haven't bought it back is because i haven't meleed in literally over a year so rangers ammy works much better. once i get the cash for armadyl skirt it will probably be the next thing i buy.

Thanks for the fast respons. Atm I slay alot with Slayer helm / guthans / whip / defender / glory / ROW. Should I get a fury first? Or is there other gear I should get first?

i also (range) slay alot. sometimes even with my tank gear i find myself wishing i had a fury, but with that setup your first order of business should be a zerker ring since it has been proven that ROW's don't help much at all, and actually decrease your chances at some drops. also a firecape would be worthwhile to get. but besides those two, a fury should be your next upgrade, probably followed by a dfs for some tasks.

Let me say it this way: If you're not wearing a fury, you're probably a noob.*

That is a horrible quote. I don't wear a fury, and I don't consider myself a "noob". And I know a number of people who'd agree with me.

OT: Don't buy it unless you'll have some cushion of money. If you'll be literally broke after buying it, don't buy it.

I just want to make a point here: The ROW, pointless as it is, never decreases the chances at some drops. Instead, it changes some of the 'no additional drop' possibilities on the 'rare item wheel' to a selection of rare drops. However, because of the changes in the value of many items found on the 'rare item wheel', such as d spears and gems since they were introduced, actually getting these rare drops barely improves your average income when alternatives like the Fremennik rings exist to improve your rate of kills.

get 70 prayer before fury. When you reach 68 summoning, Guthans is pretty pointless.

get 70 prayer before fury.

Didn't even look at his stats. I think 70 prayer is a lot better (and better for the money) than a Fury is.

70 prayer for piety? Does that stack with slayer helm and super pots?

Ares_Artemis.png

70 prayer and atleast 69 summ before fury. hell I sold mine for 85 herb+96 summ...

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Oh, absolutely. The fury is the all-around best amulet in the game, but if it's between that and piety, you want the 70 prayer.

YOU may not consider yourself a noob, but that doens't mean I don't consider you a noob. (Which I didn't call you, but your untrimmed cooking cape kinda says I'm barking up the right tree...) I agree, if you can afford the best gear, might as well get it, unless there is other gear you need which would give you more benefit. Buy a fury eventually, and buy it know if you have the rest you need, otherwise get that first. Simple as that.

This is pretty funny when you consider that the bonuses from a fury far outweigh the bonuses of Bandos.

Get 70 prayer, 68-69 summoning, then get a fury. It's a very worthwhile investment.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Since you're slaying, this is the order of operations that i myself would follow:

-Get 70 prayer

-Get 68 summoning

-make sure you have v skirt + prossy plate combo

-then a fury.

With this, you can piety tasks efficiently. Without the need of Guthans.

About the fury:

Stats come first, then equipment. This rule generally works in a lot of situations. First off, i bought my fury when they were 2 - 3M each, and never have sold it since. Right now i still would put down 16M for one as long as i had everything else i needed below it.

Heck, i didn't even sell my fury for 95 prayer.

Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005.

Fury unless you need to buy 70 prayer, then you can save up until you can afford fury again.

I don't use a fury because the glory's stats aren't that far off AND the glory has the awesome ability to teleport. That alone is enough for me to take it over a fury

Why not carry a glory on your person while you wear a fury? Fury is much better than a glory. Personally, I bring house tabs with me so I have quick access to an altar and bank (glory in house).
