Fourth Age, year 1:19:

Mix in a Job. "Hey, monkey features! You can keep man, but get those simians out of my sandpit!" It may not be wise to defy red , but it's possible with scattered chip mice and a worn mule cart.

Just in case anyone instantly thought the same as me, perhaps biblical reference, Job 1:19 goes as follows:

"when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house"

While this may be barking up entirely the wrong tree, it does mention sand, and red may perhaps be a desert deity. (similar to the story of Job)

The mention of monkey confuses me though, especially with Mambo (the monkey god) being referenced in a different section....

Meh, it's probably wrong, but this is what discussing potential answers is all about, right? :/

Edit: Perhaps it'll revolve around the Devourer Vs Icthlarin tension once more

This is my first ever post :D

You might be on to something, but you might be completely off as well. :P

This part however:

"when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house"

Made me think of the desert sand blowing up towards the Desert Treasure pyramid (it has 4 sides for the diamonds.)

This is probably as far off as it gets though, unless the monkey god is teaming up with Zaros. :shades:

Kind of an interesting postbag. I laughed a couple times. Sad that my favorite character in all of Runescape (Azzanadra) didn't really reveal anything too amazing, though it's interesting that he has no idea what Bilrach is up to (which makes sense).

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

On the third hint:

Fourth Age, year 071009:

Okay, I took this as a date. However I wasn't sure if this was October 7 or July 10 :P

On October 7, the high level herblore potions came out. Maybe, there will be more high level potions, farming crops, and hunter traps.. http://services.rune...ons?allcat=true

On July 10, the news of the Jagex security key was announced. This could hint that the key for more bank space is coming out....??

http://services.rune...tem?allcat=true

Or maybe it's not a date. Those seemed like a a bit of a stretch...

Hmm those dates sound pretty plausible. And in another clue thingy, herblore was mentioned. Maybe they will add extremes and ovls back in to pvp *crosses fingers*

It would be Day/Month/Year. That's how they always write it.

Sevga put it to your notes in runescape to get:

"Marmaros had a close encounter with a prayer-eating behemoth"

Some more info from the RSOF thread that looks like it's on the right track.

The entire letter from the Chaos Elemental had various spaces that shouldn't be there, like so...

"... Judge , locks..."

"... shower . One..."

"... Sevga , if..."

"... red , but..."

"... box !: they..."

"... waste . The..."

Taking the last letter of every word before the space reveals E R A D X E or RED AXE.

Book of Job, 1:19

"And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee."

From the Luminescent Icefiend's diary, the second entry is dated 1:19 and starts out with "mix in a Job".

Interesting reads from this edition of the postbag. I liked the poem from Lexicus. :P

And lol, heim crabs taste like wizard.

Back when Overloads and Extreme potions were banned from PvP worlds, there was a thread where one of the Mod's started getting ideas for a second batch of potions to replace the "loss" of removing Extremes from PvP. I remember this, because one of the suggestions by the Mod was a "death prevention potion" which I though was pretty interesting.

It is quite possible this update will be the second batch of those potions they were working on.

Maybe damage reduction potions will finally be released!

I wouldn't mind an Elxiir of Life at high herblore that the next time you die you respawn on the spot like in pits/caves after elite diary but it'd have to be pretty expensive to make like 500k a pot or something would be useful boss hunting though as your next death you're guaranteed to not die :P

smellysockssigbyblfazer.png

To be honest they need to add high level untradable rewards for all other skills before they add more to herblore.

Extreme potions etc. was one of the best updates in a very long time and they need to implement things like that for every skill.

The second one talking bout simians and sand pit... desert quest? I dunno how to really work through the chaos ele hints...

Jagex is lifting hints from the bible now?

I approve.

Kethsi is an anagram for the 3 dragon kin at WGS no its not XD fail

the second part of hint 4 is "the strong remembers the weak falls"

This has been speculated to mean "Robert the Strong remembers the baxtorian falls"

Robert the Strong was a dragon kin slayer, and the baxtorian falls being a dragon kin fortress.

So I would say hint 4 is a reference to a WGS sequel

as for the mix in a job hint.

All the sub hints in hint 4 reference the desert pantheon.

The desert pantheon has 2 higher gods, and 4 demi gods.

the "wind swept in from the wilderness and smote the 4 corners".

maybe the 4 corners are the 4 demi gods of the desert pantheon.

We know that desert pantheon, and their followers were decimated after the god wars by zamorakian/saradomin forces.

Perhaps the wind from the wilderness was Zamorak, who after returning to Gielinor offered one of his demon generals to ravage the desert

"Keep man" is an acronym for "Apmeken."

From a Twitter Q&A with Mod Mark:

Q: Is there a pirate quest in development? Been a while since we had one. If not, what about Elven/Monkeys? Thanks!

A: We are working on a quest that has monkeys in it!

Monkey features, simians and a (half-)monkey god.

I guess it's about the quest he was referring to.

you know jagex is about to re-design the dscim also, so i woudlnt be surprised if another monkey madness quest came out the same time that happens

a_final_name.png

the strong remembers the weak falls

I'd say this is a direct reference to the Mahjarrat Ritual: the strong survive, the weak(est) falls

wind swept in from the wilderness and smote the 4 corners

The wilderness was a large part of Zaros land. Though I'am more inclined to look to Zamorak now: he attacked and swept across the land in all the four corners of the world, AKA God Wars. If this is connected to the Desert: Zamorak also attacked the area what is now a desert, and with the four major Pantheon Gods 'out of the picture' at the time, the four demi-gods (represented in the corners) were attacked.

Apmeken is a desert god with the face of a monkey, could be what the "Hey, Monkey features" refers to.

Defy red could refer to defying Sumona/Amascut, who has red hair and eyes in every disguise we've seen her in thusfar

Also, the bible verse says Desert, not Wilderness in some translations, including the new international version, which seems more relevant to this desert-related hint.

Ever occurred to you that the wilderness is "desert"ed. :)

So it may be to do with the temple at sennisten (zaros), chaos temple with zamorakian wine (zamorak) and the other two corners something else.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Or since Red Axe has been mentioned, which is a Dwarf company (I think)

It might be defying the red axe company.

Set a man on fire, and he will be warm for the rest of his life.
