I don't know if I mentioned "A love song for Bobby Long" already, it had a nice soundtrack that really portrayed the bluesy atmosphere of New Orleans. January 4, 200620 yr 8 mile's OST was great. rakim, nas, jay, 50, (when 50 was still considered underground and didnt do that lame mumble-talk thing he does now), obie, xzibit, young zhee and eminem all on one disc. sweetness.
January 8, 200620 yr Crash is pretty good both movie and soundtrack. Most of the songs are composed by Mark Isham and a few by Sterephonics but overall it really sets this mood that I can't reallly describe. Just watch the movie and you'll get what I mean.

The best peice by far is Franks theme tune too, especially when he comes out of the bushes. *Goes to watch now* I wonder how many times Morricone has been mentioned in this thread :o With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
