One of the few reasons I could think of why the return of free trade would actually be a good thing was the removal of statuettes and its large influx of coins entering the game... and they're keeping them in?

Yet this time they won't be abusable.

I'd rather they removed them entirely. There is NO reason to keep them in the game, surely the prospects of Ancient armour and brawlers is incentive enough to hunt these Revenants? We do not need the equivalent of 1000 free high-level alchs in drops.

Stuff like Statius Warhammer would become rares if they were removed. Jagex does not want to do that.

Especially since it would become a USEFUL rare instead of a purely cosmetic rare. Add the fact that they degrade and that they are much less spread out than other rares were when they were released (ex. anyone could've gotten a santa when they were out, but very few will find themselves with a SWH). You could easily see these worth in the billions after a few years.

He's talking about statuettes, not PvP armour. As it stands, there is no reason to keep them in the game. Jagex could easily just turn any remaining statues into their cash equivalent and be done with them.

i've noticed a trapdoor by Turael's house the says off limits at the moment.

Isn't, that, you know, for his "special" slayer assignment, which, you know, consists of you going down the trap hole IF he assigns you the special task to kill a bunch of low level monsters?

And yeah, I'm quite sad about the statuette thing. Either they turn all existing ones into cash and be done with it, or.... this one we can't rule out yet....

You know how we trade in statuettes, if I'm not mistaken? What if Jagex nerfed the ability to turn them in, made them useful in some non-enterGPintoEconomy sort of way?

And of course, they'd have to nerf the alch values along with it.

Oh, and I totally saw the "PVP armour from Revs" coming. Disappointed about statuettes. With any luck though, the statuettes will be rarer then sigils and 3a and remain untradeable.

they said the entrance to the dungeon will possibly be located in the wilderness.

The cave in the north-west wilderness (zamorak temple in around 40 wilderness near kbd) has been unused since it was introduced with Whilst Guthix Sleeps, has no left click option.. and looks like a gooood location to have it.

I saw that today, never really go up there but i knew it wasnt new.

If it is there-- getting there will be a pain too along with actually dealing with revs/people in there

@sir squab-- statuettes ARE tradeable though, however it doesnt make a difference because u'd get same amount.

Good spot Toad. :shades:

@Sir Squab, I highly doubt they will become entirely that rare... tbh, if anything I think that Jagex (knowing them...) will just make them into a sort of minigame, where you collect them, turn them in for pure cash and it will be LIKE the current way that they are used... The twist however is that the amount they are worth will be either:

A. Random

B. generated by quantity of how many previous

C. Exactly as they are today.

And we all know Jagex and their ideas...

The dungeon underneath the Burthrope slayer master's house isn't new. It's for some uninteresting slayer challenge released last April.

Im wondering what the level range will be for this

If is no more than 30 level range and in multi (where I can use summoning), Hoping to own the revs with my titan while no one being able to kill me at the same time

Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod!

Depending on the nature of PVP inside this new dungeon (how far into the Wildy it is etc) being a middle-ish (90 is middle right?) combat I may have an advantage to just slide under those powerful Clans and bag me some brawlers FOR FREE  Woo.. Although I doubt life could ever be so sweet :(

Yeah, I'm quite disappointed that Jagex decided to keep the inflation drops when it would have been so easy to remove them. Hopefully they'll be rare.

Doubt statues will be a problem anymore + Jmods said they will change statues if they are still a problem.

Any statues is a problem. There's no reason to make monsters drop 5m in cash when you could just think of something else for them to drop without causing inflation.

I don't trust Jagex's ability to assess a problem with the economy at all.

You can hope >.<

But yeah, there's no need for monsters to drop 5m cash. I'm hoping they really nerf the cash rate or whatever of them, or that they get a new use, replacing getting pure cash with something not-involving pure cash.

Hoping anyways =/

I always liked the idea of statuettes being exchangeable for some kind of PvP currency that can be exchanged for unique items that was floating around for a while after they came out. Would have been better for the economy and more interesting than cash drops, but then it would have required less laziness from Jagex.

Or even better, buy PvP equipment.

Bam, now all Jagex needs to do is actually code the tokens and NPC who will sell this stuff.

Lol....or even better...make the statuettes kinda like warrior's guild tokens for the new dungeon. 1statuette equals 1hour in the dungeon, and you can buy them outside the dungeon at a set rate like 500k ea. Oh, and make'm untradable...

Do we actually even know whats going to happen to the guy at BH? If we go along with this idea I think we have an NPC that we can sell the stuff to, and that'd probably be the hardest part. Then all you would have to do is code for the currency and new dialogue, then BAM, new idea.

Oh, and as to the regard of wether or not statues should be removed, I think there is no real "substitute" for them as no matter what it is, just so long as the item replacing them is tradeable it's still "currency" of some form. TBH that is inflation and the only way to remove that is to make it an untradeable item used only like the current PVP weapons. just my two cents though.

EDIT: As Fourside pointed out in the above post, There ARE other possibilities, but the real issue is that they still carry in the form of currency as long as they are still tradeable.

The current PvP equipment IS tradeable though, but not after it's been used.

I am surprised they are taking out the freeze aspect of the revs.

I would think the rev zone would be single area, but in f2p that would make colosi+ a tough solo and probably a one and done.

As for attacking rev killers, in a f2p setting, the rev hunters would be in green dhide, wielding a g2h, and in the 110+ range not exactly an enticing target, nor if you kill to be jumped by a rev.

I would waste my time looking for rune miners.
