I recently got hacked somehow. I never gave out my password to anyone and never signed on to any runescape fansite other than here. I got the douche's ip address. How / Can I report this to Jagex?

Email them the IP with any proof you have of them hacking your account. Knowing jagex though, nothing will be done on their end.

Yeah not really gonna happen. I didn't download ANYTHING at all anyways. I took a break and haven't logged in for a week. When I get back, I get hacked.

And that is pretty sad how I poured so many hours into this and all I get in return: dropped 2 chaotics, 300m gone, and the hacker putting some immature statements in my notes page. Meanwhile, Jagex will not do anything.

Take a look at your signature, maybe that will give you an answer.

It's always a good idea to have a bank pin.

 

Especially now with the update to make that interface faster, it takes all of what 5 seconds? to enter it in.

And nobody will be able to touch your bank.

 

I still don't see how people are getting hacked without downloading any programs.

Have you been registering for "help sites" with the same account user as your RS name, or maybe even the email that you use?

Have you clicked anything fishy from Jagex?

 

In all the games I've ever played, I've never been hacked.

I haven't done anything rs related in a week except look at the ge updates for tortstols. I used to look at these threads and wonder how people got hacked if they actually didn't type in their password anywhere. Now it happens to me. So I guess it's true. You can get hacked without typing in ur password into anywhere.

Thanks Nyo for the website. Found out the crook is in Canada. The only things I'm going across the border for are drugs not a computer nerd though.

Also, did you receive an email from "Jagex" because that might have been the reason for you being hacked. :mellow:

It does make me laugh how silly some people are.

Sure if you happen to have expensive gear on when you get hacked you might lose a fair amount. But bank pin will keep 95% of yer stuff safe for at least 7 days (from the time of hacking).

 

I got hacked once after using a college computer to play rs; I lost 5 raw sharks and my cooking cape.

My bank pin still had 6 days left on it and kept all my barrows etc safe (this is bk in the day when all 6 barrows sets set up bk like 100m)

before you do ANYTHING, hack them back, sell all their stuff, so you only have a cash pile left....and buy needles...lots and lots of plain, simple, 1 gp needles.

People don't simply get 'hacked'. You probably fell for a phishing website, or did things you're not admitting right now.

I'm sure that it's also against the law to perform DoS attacks, probably not the best solution.

Because it's certainly not possible they recovered the account using safety questions.

How in the hell do you get the hackers IP if you only see the IP BEFORE you see your charicter..?

Not to hijack, but what is this DoS thing you refer to? I've heard it mentioned before.
