what's sad is, there was this noob who started following me out of nowhere asking "can i have something" and "how much money do you have" i said a couple million, he said "cool can i have a million" i said "no" he said "can i have 500k" then "can i plzplzplz" i fealt generous so i gave him 10k to start with and knew i just made a lvl 3 noob very very happy, but instead he said "i wanted 500k not 10k" now don't get me wrong, 10k is a lot to a newb, i remember it took me almost a month to get my first 30k or something, so i said "sigh, give me back 10k and i'll give you 500k then  so he traded me 10k and then i just teleported, he then pmed me "this game is too hard" and logged out :?

Thats a funny story  Now,if i'm being generous to newbs(and that's almost only when Christams time is around),i tend to give things only to the ones who don't ask for it,and are lvl 3,(if they would have a main, they'd probably have trained their comat skills to 3,making them about lvl 5)and seriously, not a single one of them has come begging for more.Hope this helps (a teeny bit :D )

As use noobs as slaves. MUHAHAHAHA!!

no, I'm JK, but I do give noobs some jobs, but at *cough* lower *cough* prices than veterian players.

yeah, if they aren't satisfied with you teaching them how to do it themselves (which is alot less risky & costly), then tell em to back off.that simple!also, if someone is really helpful or genuinely seems to need something that they cannot get themselves, then ya can give gifts.but if they abuse yer generosity, ya can just tele away & remove em from friends list.

In the late days of RSC and the early days of present day Runescape, my friend Hacony and I couldn't have our friends list on because our names got spread by word of mouth. We would make full sets of iron and iron weapons to give to people off of Tutorial Island, and eventually took that to free sets of steel and mith, because we got all our materials ourselves. It was great, but annoying at the same time. I feel your pain.

A few times I even got random people on the street following me saying "liek t3h 0mg u r t3h guyy hoo hlped mi frend X can i haev spaer munies 4 a noob?"

I never give things to Noobs that beg.

A guy, almost 3 years ago admired my Santa hat and wanted to be

friends with me, he asked me a couple of times if I can give him

something but the truth is I never gave him anything and now he is my

best friend in RS and IRL, he got great skills and he is currently

merchanting. He is very close to get his own Santa Hat.

What I mean with this story is that you shouldn't just give stuff to a

random guy that you meet, you should, if you have time, learn him/her

how to play RuneScape, I've helped a bunch of people this way,

many of them are members now.

Very old post...but anyway. I belive in helping noobs, however if your going to give then stuff... give them little things...5k mabey full iron...but not 100k. What you should do with noobs is help them...not give them stuff, giving them stuff only makes them want more. Help them make money or get full iron...IMO

I haven't handed out free things in a long, long time. However, I know exactly what you mean from having experienced it on numerous occasions. The last time I gave anything to another (excluding friends), I was followed by 4 others asking for the same thing... Now I stick to advice, only.

ever see those dont feed the animals signs near parks or zoos? same principal applies, you "feed" them with items and they become dependent on it and think they should get it whenever they ask so......dont feed the noobs :?
