  1. 1. Which Campaign?

Mmmm, I think I was using one of the other questionairres you filled in...the one about it not being a moral whatsit because you would always kill Andians.

I will redo it, do you still want to be related to Dusty, or would you prefer to just be someone else's kid?

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Anywho @Nero and Retech

What's going to happen with the extra 25,000KT? The colonial team still needs some extra funding for the bare essentials of the colony (such as housing or farms)

We will need ~10,000KT of the reserves, this will allow the colony to thrive and they wont hate us. Remember the colony is pretty much the reason we're here.

We still need 100,000 people to work as builders in the research colony. My offer is that the 25,000 KT be split 10000 KT for military, 10000 KT for colony, 5000 KT for research, and 100,000 people for research. I will need your response by sometime today.

Hmmm......Is it possible to make plasma proof gloves, or do I have to research those first?

And Theft is not worse than murder.

Murder costs 100 kt.

Theft costs whatever stuff is destroyed or stolen.

From a purely monetary standpoint, theft is the new murder. Actually, more like manslaughter. Vandalism and arson are murder.

From a gameplay standpoint murder is worse as it stops you from playing/increases the risk of that. Please stop repeating that theft is an extremely serious crime, even if I did intend to permenantly steal off Volta then nobody would lose out because Volta is an NPC.

On my ship, theft is grounds for semi-permanent expulsion or exile. Seeing as you are not on my ship, then my opinion does not matter.

Volta's an NPC, yes... Named NPCs are fairly persistant in this game and going against one (especially an officer of the TFed) will get you in deep crap.

Retech, does that rule include theft of designs, software and files?

That stuff is more variable. I don't want to get into the area of patents and such, but basically...

Resistance, Volta=NPC=Played by the GM=Royal Chance to screw you over if the GM feels like it. Just don't steal from people, it won't end well (unless we all act in concert ie in a tech theft mission).

Hmm, Icu have you ever thought of using making people into servitors as a viable punishment for crimes committed on your colony? Also, why would the R&D ship need so many people?

Building stuff takes people to construct mines and factories to produce our cool hardware.

... Builderbots can do that, just modify them and use thePolymorph materials to make them so.

Which I have calculated to be extremely expensive and not really worth it. Humans are cheaper, and we are willing to pay the upkeep.

Further, there is no benefit for the colony keeping that extra 100,000, because they don't have enough resources to put them to work, which I have also calculated.

I've basically done all the calculations and not transferring the humans would basically halve our wealth. Heck, I would even pay additional colony taxes.

Just throwing an idea out here... Why not have the research area attached to the regular colony? It would reduce transport costs, and if security was tight, would allow them to retain their autonomy while making material transfer much easier.

It also means the military does not have to dilute it's efforts.

(Also, the above couple of posts are exactly the reason Retech makes a good manager: Number crunching to the extreme.)

Icu said that space was a valuable resource and that the planet was under his complete jurisdiction, which basically ruled out any chance of the research team being in the area.

How much are colony taxes and how often are they collected?

Builder and miner bots are among the things I am going to put the most effort into. I am considdering developing a new sort of hivemond structure to have carriers, miners and nanitess cooperate that allow them to act... well, not as one unit, but something with even greater pressission. Having miners deploy the nanites directly into veins to have them extract the mineral as fast as possible. For the miners I will have to develop a new genre of robots, either centites or decites.

Doesn't matter to me, don't think it would make sense for Admiral Dusty the extreme nationalist to have a kid with a Russian name.

Mather, I actually think that may be a good idea, but MAKE SURE TO DO THE RESEARCH. Not just the literal tech-point research, make sure the system:

A) Is measurably better than other current or proposed methods

B) Is able to be used practically

C) Won't become completely useless if bettered

I suggest finding a way to make nanites cheaper first, or at what level they become cheaper, however expensive they are now is TOO expensive.

Nex, I've got nanoengineering levels here, so my designs should theoretically be cheaper and more efficiant than that of anyone with no/lower level.

Just like I have macroengineering to have the same bonus in suits, ships and anything else that is larger than myself.

It... it doesn't work like that Mather... You can't specialize in building suits, and weapons arrays, and ships, and frickin' spacestations with one skill. Same as Zeitark can't specialize in overall Psionics.

Moving on...

Icu, would you support my claim of innocence in the matter of the death of two armory guards? They were recently dead when the report was filed, and I had been with you and Volta all day. Is further evidence in my favour needed?
