vettro
So I'm trying to snag an aura while the discount is going on. Any suggestions?
LitterBug
Honestly none of them are really that good. I got reverence - and it's useful sometimes on longer tasks (like waterfiends/black demons - without access to a combat familiar)
Cheat
I don't think anyone really has any hard data on the effects of the auras but in my opinion the most useful of them seems to be reverance and it does increase the amount p pots restore slightly but to be honest your not gonna get much evidence based advice yet. JacTise69
Reverence gets more useful the lower your prayer bonus is. So in standard gear (bandos, firecape, ddef, crapier, fsh, dboots, barrows gloves, berserker ring, fury) you'll notice a slight effect on the drain rate, in good prayer gear you'll notice practically nothing in drain rate. The. Ppoint restored per dose is nice no matter what. Trolling by giving good advice since April 2011. The Blog - Currently Cleaning Herbs
IAmCyanide
IMO, Reverence, is the best.
Mini_Spawn
Can't go wrong with surefooted. takes all the frustration out of agility and allows you to train on an upper level course for 20 minutes without any xp loss. If you're near the level for a new course or just at the level for a new one it would be useful as it prevents you from failing, giving you the same xp rate as someone with 99 agility for 20 minutes. schmuall
Buy the emotes. In 4 months you'll have all of them.Wait till Jagex releases the higher tear auras. Although currently unconfirmed, it's believed by many players that you'll have to own the lesser tiers of auras before you can upgrade them to the higher tiers (as occurs with the ring of kinship) so imo, it's definately worth getting a lower tier now. give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
Quyneax
Sharpshooter is useful if you Nex, reverence for lots of things that require staying power but saves only 10k per use, knock-out is the only one that increases melee kph but only slightly, surefooted doesn't work beyond 93 agility, call of the sea doesn't seem to do very much, oddball is fun to watch? xpx
Summer pies* and the aura saves money until 93 agility. The cost of summer pies are highly insignificant and.... the only thing you fail at 92 is a ropeswing that fails EXTREMELY rarely, meaning you might not fail there going from 86-93 at barb adv. 92 is the level that actually matters, so at 87, you shouldn't have much worries about failing at all. The most significant aura for bossing is obviously sharpshooter as it significantly increases your range dps on high def monsters(nex, kree, zil, even corp). Reverence is slightly useful for bossing if you have a divine, but generally is a money-saver, though not too significant(as prayer point cost is at an all time low). Knock-out aura is the best if you don't care about the little money reverence saves and do alot of melee combat/slayer. The other auras don't really deserve much consideration. Reverence is arguably just as good at Nex, for the very reason you just said. For RSOF teams, Reverence is generally better, as the purpose is to deal the minimum damage needed to remain on the team, while staying as long as you can so that you aren't forced to teleport prematurely. In teams where loot is actually shared, it depends heavily on how experienced your team is. Teams that are coordinated to bank, restock, and return quickly benefit more from the increased kill speed, while teams that spend a significant amount of time banking are better off prolonging their trip by a kill whenever possible. Also, members with better gear benefit from Reverence more, as later in the trip, they will be using their Super restores primarily for prayer and not so much for stat restoration (I have personally gone through several 4-man and 5-man kills using one Saradomin brew or less, usually just to heal off Overload damage.) In contrast, someone constantly using Saradomin brew will find themselves using a lot of Super restore anyways and losing their excess prayer to Nex's draining tactics. As far as which aura to buy now, I would make a list of the ones you like most. Then purchase the one with the most expensive normal price, assuming you don't need them soon. By buying the more expensive one now, and the cheaper one after, you will have more points remaining than if you did it the other way around - points that can be saved for future possible upgrades, other auras you may decide you want after all, or emotes/titles.
