Exp Lamps

It rather depends on your personal goal.. If you are going for max total it would generally be better to use experience lamps on a very slow skill like runecrafting that by conventional methods maxes at about 55kxp/hr or another fairly slow skill like agility which only every reaches around 70kxp/hr at fairly high levels. Another slow skill is slayer but not many use lamps on slayer as it is a nice way to gain combat experience and summoning charms so I would personally not use lamps on slayer. If we are talking small quest reward lamps then I would use them on dungeoneering if you are sub 60 because it is incredibly slow experience beneath 50. If you are not aiming for max total a skill to consider is summoning which factoring in charm gathering maxes at about 95kxp/hr barraging rock lobsters so people wishing for a high combat account or more useful summoning familiars should use their lamps on these. If we are talking dragonkin lamps then I wouldn't use them on any skill below 85 as the experience rewards grow so heavily with levels gained. Hope that all made sense.

Depends. You should lamp the skills that are hard to train for you personally. If you have trouble making cash - prayer/herblore, if you hate grinding - go with rc or agility, if there's a skill that you simply hate training - do that one.

Summoning, prayer, herb, rc, agil. Mainly slow or expensive skills. If you can't decide, just pump it into the skill that's the highest lvl.

If you have trouble making cash, learn to make cash.

=D>

That was [bleep]ing helpful.

HappyBunyip is right. I personally regret when I used to spend lamps on expensive skills. In the long run rc/agility will be much better. There are many ways to make money and utilising them shouldn't be a problem.

If you can't decide, save them until they can be used to their full potential.

Also, it's best if you open the lamps yourself, getting assists is exp waste. And nobody likes that.

PM me in game anytime

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

Runecraft is the slowest xp per hour so you'll save most time using it on that, unless you don't care about runecraft levels then agility > fishing > slayer

Runecrafting can be assisted, so there is no need to boost it with lamps after you reach 95 or so provided you have plenty of other skills left to max out (agility, fishing, slayer mainly).

Thanks for the replies. So it seems the consensus is that the slow XP/hr skills are where you want to spend your lamps...is that a fair assessment of it?

I agree on that. But I personally like training rc once in a while. I hate summoning atm since it's a very expensive skill. I don't have trouble making money, but moneymaking is usually doing alot of stuff I'm maxed at or that is very boring due to its repetitive character. So I've been using all my penguin pts, random xp lamps etc on summoning lately. Saves me the efforts of doing the boring runs to get summon XP and I'm getting closer to pack yack without efforts. After that I'll probably stop using them on yack and focus on herblore. It's a personal choice what you use it on, but imo it's stupid to use it on any other skill than rc (for the boredom) or sum/herblore/pray for the cost of it...

You're doing it wrong, summoning is only ~5-6 gp/xp which is only slightly more expensive than firemaking.

Weird well it surprises me then it cost me about 100k shards to get sum 86-88 with rock lobsters. All I bought was the shards.

Fm'ing doesn't cost me a thing since I get the maples from MTK and I make profit selling the herbs, seeds (farm 99) & bird nests...

So nope, firemaking doesn't cost a thing to me :)

You lose the profit of selling maples + the opportunity cost of not using something faster to level with.

You will also receive a large portion of those shards back when you trade the pouches.

OT: If you intend to max, RC is the general consensus. If not, slayer/pray/herb.

It costs you in time+the money that you could have made from seling the maples. No such thing as free.

You'd be better off selling the maples and buying magic logs and using the time saved to make more money. Plus as stated you should be swapping pouches for shards or selling them on the ge to compensate (at different times one may be better than the other).

ZMI is profitable by a small margin. Around 100-200k/hr?

It all depends on your personal preferences. I use my lamps and penguin points on summoning because it's a skill that benefits me, but I don't like to train. If you don't have any skills that you don't like to train, then use it on a skill that would be expensive normally, like herblore or construction.
