JAGAXS RULES UNFAIR?

Blackthought

This one, and it was in a public place. I was not aware it was a rule, so he let me off.

I have reported almost 50 people; 45 of those ended with people being banned.

I have reported 8 different bugs in game. 4 of those have been fixed almost immediately.

I have used a total of $70 on membership so far, since RS came out.

I was banned permanently for referring Tip.it to a friend.

Don't make the same mistake I did kids.

Paul and Andrew and obviously biased in favor of RuneHq. :?

Yeah, sadly you have to be very cautious with mentioning websites anymore.

You may try to defend yourself with Jagex if you get something like this from just mentioning a website (e.g. if they gave me a mark for saying I work for tipit), but if you're telling people they should go to the website there's not much you can do even though OUR site is safe.

The only people I say Rune HQ or Tip It to anymore are my trusted friends over PMs, they are not stupid like these lvl 60 wannabe mods that report you for every minor thing (censor acts up and stars a normal word, bam you are reported), they know and use those sites.

If absolutly have to say anything in the normal chat, just say "ask on the offical rs forums", Jagex can't do anything about that, because you are not naming a site, and you are recommending THEIR forums, if you get black marked for mentioning their forums, then Jagex CS is totally stupid.

You could try explaining to Customer Support that you've been unjustly blackmarked for refering people to Tip.It which is a well known and safe fansite. If you're lucky, they might see the error of their ways and remove your mark.

if u get reported for having a word stared the when the mage training area came out there would be a mass ban as u can't say pizazz in game. Jagex should relley not use words in the game that we can't say

Barrows drops to date: ahrim's skirt, hood and top x 5. Dharoks legs top x 2 and helm. Guthan's legs and plate. torags plate x 2. verc's flail skirt brassard x 2. karil's x bow coif and top

we could all cancel our membership and only use f2p, or just completely boycott. reach out and try to get our friends and other users to join in, make p2p completely unpopular, and when the money dries up, Jagex will cave.

Look, if your mom still drops you off at school, you ain't gangsta, pull up your damn pants!

i say 'go on search engine, do runescape and 2nd option dwon'. they cant detect what im saying, but i get them onto tip it alright. oh, and blak marks are removed over timeor if you have been a very good little person

Back by popular demand!

And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all.

Or we could all just follow the rules of their game. If someone needs help, just tell them to search for "runescape fansite". Tip.It is the first result. It's not hard to help ppl without breaking the rules. Sorry to hear about people getting banned over one time mentioning it. But if you got a blackmark once for it, and then did it again. Then you don't have a reason to complain. That's why they gave you a blackmark, to WARN you not to do it anymore.

As for when they finally do add fansites to their site, you have to think of the number of sites they are going to be bombarded with. All the tip sites, then you're going to have clan sites wanting on there. They will have to take the time to check the whole site to make sure it's safe for players to use. Which will mean more money spent on more employees for checking the sites. That search I mentioned at the beginning, brought back nearly 40,000 results. Let's say 100 ppl searching 10 sites a day, will still be over a year before all those are researched. And that's not including any that pop up between now and then. Add to that you will probably have quite a few scammers setting up sites trying to get them by JAGeX in hopes of getting more victims. Which makes researching the sites totally even more of a priority.

If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.

We can sit in tippy forums and complain about things, I would even offer the accusation that Jagex is after traffic staying on their site for banner income. But... There is only one real reasonable way to resove this issue. Write Jagex about it as a representative group of paying members instead of as an individual complaining in a restrained form which they control.

We have a rather active Runescape community here and at rhq whom love the game. Many of whom spend their free time gathering data and writing tutorials, reports, and blogs.

I propose we write Jagex a letter which we all sign with our rsnames.

Suggested topic outline of the letter:

We enjoy not only playing Runescape but playing Runescape as a group.

Our enthusiasm for Runescape drives us to take free time to write guides/reports, helping one another and interacting across restrictive time zones.

We maintain and enforce a code of conduct which does not allow for propagating cheats such as bots and account trading/selling. (maybe give link to forums rules here)

We take efforts to keep everyone secure from scams, viruses, keyloggers, and any vulnerabilities which may effect anyones enjoyment of playing Runescape.

We as a community are more than willing to help Jagex maintain a secure enjoyable experience for and as it's customers. (also add link here)

Information from Jagex about vulnerabilities are quickly destributed throughout the community and acted upon appropriately. If Jagex is aware of any vulnerabilities which they feel the community is not addressing we would appreciate public notification to resolve the issue promtly.

This letter from the Runescape community to Jagex was promted by reports, in early 2006, from Runescape members whom claim to have had their Runescape accounts banned. These reports claim the factoring cause of action by Jagex was due to violation of Runescape rule #11. These incidents were related to what the community knows as "safe sites". Tip.it and runescapehq.com which are Runescape community websites which preach and practice the before mentioned statements above.

Some Runescape forum Mods and in game Mods have come accustom to the term "safe site" and have openly informed community/customer members "safe sites" are exempt from Runescape rule #11.

good idea but jagax only gives us only like 200 word or 300 which is very very very VERY lil words to write all that wont fit

Yeah that was a large part of my point. Communicate with them in a way that they do not control. Representing a large group of members which would have a bigger impact then individuals. To put in nicely.

BTW
