False alarm, Golden Scythe apparently is just released to Runefest attendees today, and we're due for it on the 31st !

So the Runefest attendees are only getting the scythe a few days early, but everyone is intended to get it by the 31st?

Aww, was looking forward to that since the mask isn't that pretty! :( I wonder if that was the plan all along, however, or if it was indeed linked to the Golden Joysticks, but I doubt it :P.

Bleh. I don't like how I will have to settle with another dark slot in my toy box just because I couldn't afford a ticket to Runefest and a plane ride to London.

 

Although, 25 looks like a small amount despite it being exclusive to Runefest attendees. I am sure the only rarer item would be trimmed completionist capes.

Unless they're planning on adding it later, the golden scythe doesn't show up in the toy box. I know it did before, but its not there now. I checked when I put my sock mask in.

WOW. 25? That's pretty damn unfair. Unless you forgot Jagex, not everyone in the WORLD (NOT ENGLAND) Can afford a plane to England and buy a ticket. Members only stuff I get, ANYONE can get members with a few bucks, but not everyone can pay $5,000 to go to Runefest from another continent.

Dammit Jagex, why do you even bother making animations, models, textures and code for an item that only 25 OUT OF LIKE MILLIONS OF PLAYERS will ever be able to own?! Although that makes me think they originally had it planned for golden joystick but when they lost they just bs'd something for it.

Lame. Jagex are dicks. Also the scythe is kinda good looking which makes me even more mad that we don't even get the chance to get it. They should of just did a graphical update on the existing scythe instead of being dicks and making a new one that pretty much nobody can get.

NO. They should never touch already existing discontinued items. Even including tradeables (exception when they added a warning before eating a pumpkin).

Something that didn't have similarities to an exusting seasonal event should have been provided instead imo; even if it is a golden scythe and not completely related to Halloween itself...

 

Possibly Demon horns headband or something as simple as that...

Making a second scythe was a dumb idea to begin with. I don't know what Jagex was thinking. Well, they were probably not thinking.

Why are so many people mad over this? It does nothing, gives no bonuses, so honestly it's just for looks. There's thousands of other wieldable things you can wear if you would like to look fashionable in an online game. Also, for those of you whining about how it's unfair because your poor and can't go to Runefest, think of the scythe as part of the experience, stop being so salty towards Jagex, it's there game and they have the authority to make something special for the loyal enough players who are willing to go to such a venue.

Event finished -> reward received -> reward destroyed immediately.

I was at Runefest and wasn't even informed about them giving out 25 to the first to complete an encrypted sentence.

 

I found out about it after all 25 were given out... Dig my dream of having a scythe up from the grave, then throw it down into the grave again and dance on it.
