Dexek
I've always taken cold showers. Basically I started it because of my Finnish roots, in which taking dips in frozen lakes is common practice for reasons similar to those you mentioned for cold showers. I do live by a lake, but I wasn't about to drive out to it everyday for a dip, so I started taking cold showers. I also take saunas for the same reason (Finnish roots). I prefer the saunas because of how good it makes me feel sexually. Cold showers, as mentioned move the blood to the core and basically negate sexual urges. Saunas give the opposite effect. PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Vezon Dash
I took my cold shower this morning. I only lasted about two minutes before I had to turn the heat on. I'll try again for the full length tomorrow.
Kirschen
Was going to take a cold shower this morning but the lever for the cold water is stuck. At least the cold air outside was able to do the same thing by waking me up.
Hakaan
I wimped out yesterday but did it today. That was probably my fastest shower ever. Afterwards, everything felt warm as if it had just come out of the dryer. I don't know if it was because of the shower or not, but I was in a great mood all day today. I might be doing this more often. Come support my max total goal here. Briobe122's 10-step guide to staking:1. Get cleaned2. Vow to never stake ever again! Maleficus1055
Thanks to the ResLife at my school who decided to shut off hot water too early, I'm being forced into taking cold showers for the next week, I guess I'll get to test this. I just wish it wasn't 50 degrees every day already. Tumblr. Follow me!
obfuscator
Today I took a hot shower and then decided to do the last 10 seconds with freezing cold water. Probably made it worse than just doing freezing cold from the beginning. Ouchy
Just had my first cold shower. I started with the tap in the middle, so it was cold but it wasn't at it's coldest, then I decided to man up and put it on the coldest setting. I came out of the shower laughing, and I don't feel tired. I'm doing that more often. Feels good man. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Tim
I shall try this in the morning. Or run&Jump right into the pool. Wish I lived at the beach tbh, would be better. I know first-hand when I woke up near the beach one camping trip, a jump into the surf really woke me up. Popoto.~<
obfuscator
Cold shower taken successfully. The first thirty seconds consisted of me running around in the bathtub and swearing profusely. aspeeder
I've taken two cold showers in my life and neither of them made me feel particularly refreshed. First one was when my roommate didn't wake me up at debate camp and I slept past when the water heater was on, and the second time in the dorms the shower closest to me was broken and the other one only had cold water. Maybe it'd be nice if I then didn't have to step into the freezing weather afterwards, but they just generally shut me down and draw inwards to warm myself back up. EDIT: Maybe the problem is I focus on how cold I am when what you're supposed to do is realize that you're cold and not dwell on it so that you shift your attention to things outside of your body. Sort of like the old "Oh, your finger hurts? Here, I'll punch you in the stomach. Bet your finger doesn't hurt now, does it?" Bullocks to that. http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww6/aspeeder/Siggy_zpsewaiux2t.png 99 Strength since 6/02/10 99 Attack since 9/19/10 99 Constitution since 10/03/10 99 Defense since 3/14/11 99 Slayer since 8/30/11 99 Summoning since 9/10/11 99 Ranged since 09/18/11 99 Magic since 11/12/11 99 Prayer since 11/15/11 99 Herblore since 3/29/12 99 Firemaking since 5/15/12 99 Smithing since 10/04/12 99 Crafting since 9/16/13 99 Agility since 9/23/13 99 Dungeoneering since 1/1/14 99 Fishing since 2/4/14 99 Mining since 2/28/14 99 Farming since 6/04/14 99 Cooking since 6/11/14 99 Runecrafting since 10/10/14 9 Fletching since 11/11/14 99 Thieving since 11/14/14 99 Woodcutting since 11/20/14 99 Construction since 12/03/14 99 Divination since 2/22/15 99 Hunter since 2/23/15 99 Invention since 01/20/17 99 Archaeology since 5/14/22 99 Necromancy since 11/22/25 Quest Point Cape since 08/20/09 Maxed since 2/23/15 Fire Cape since 02/27/13 Slayer: 3 Leaf-Bladed Swords, 8 Black Masks, 2 Hexcrests, 26 Granite Mauls, 5 Focus Sights, 33 Abyssal Whips, 9 Dark Bows, 1 Whip Vine, 3 Staffs of Light, 15 Polypore Sticks Dragon: 10 Draconic Visages, 7 Shield Left Halves, 20 Dragon Boots, 40 Dragon Med Helms, 8 Dragon Platelegs, 6 Dragon Spears, 20 Dragon Daggers, 5 Dragon Plateskirts, 1 Dragon Chainbody, 63 Off-hand Dragon Throwing Axes, 19 Dragon Longswords, 27 Dragon Maces, 1 Dragon Ward Treasure Trails: Saradomin Full Helm, Ranger Boots, Rune Body (t), Saradomin Vambraces, Various God Pages Misc:1 Onyx,1 Ahrim's Hood, 1 Guthan's Chainskirt, 1 Demon Slayer Boots
tripsis
I don't and I never will if I can avoid it  I like shower time (or bath time, when possible :P) as a time to relax and think. For me that's best done in warm showers. I like to just calm down and let my mind be at ease and think about whatever comes to mind. I actually do some of my best thinking in the shower. While a cold shower might wake me up or energize me or whatnot, I don't think it would be a good way of relaxing and thinking for me. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Ginger_Warrior
I couldn't do with cold showers. It's like going from zero to sixty in no time whatsoever... I bet somewhere in the day you'd end up crashing mentally because of it, probably after lunch where you're basically given the opportunity to sit down, stay inactive and eat lots of carbs. I tend to wash in the evenings with a hot bath to relax me and ensure a good quality night's sleep. That usually helps me with memorising information and planning my day ahead, if I wake up and don't feel so tired. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

Mdeoxys
After reading about this yesterday I decided to do it this morning... and I failed. At first I was standing there, finding some courage to actually turn on the shower. Which wasn't easy since I just woke up.After just standing there I thought it would be a better idea to start off with a hot shower and after a few minutes turn it down to 15C. When finished washing I somehow managed to turn the heat down all the way, but I think the shower tried to say something along the lines of; ''Are you sure about this mate?'' cause it just stayed hot for another 10 seconds or so. It took me another ~5 seconds to realise I wasn't enjoying the cold water at all! Maybe it will work tomorrow... we'll see. Proud (retired) Tip.it Times Editor!
