Does anyone have the beta? I applied, but I haven't received anything yet.

This is the first game I can ever remember being excited for. I've been waiting for this one for years. If they are doing a beta now, I guess that means it's finally getting close to release.

I couldn't get into the beta (at least I probably won't able to be). I'll probably buy this despite not delving into Diablo that much. I love the game, but I'm complete garbage at it (I could not, for the life of me, beat the desert dungeon with a level 18 Necromancer).

I should probably get my dusty copy of Diablo 2 out of my closet and refresh myself with the Diablo universe. Trailer was well done, although it kind of leaves you guessing as to what's going on. I mean, yes it's obvious demons are attacking, but for those who either haven't given Diablo 2 much play time, or are new to the series, nothing much to get from it story-wise.

Yeah, you have a better idea of what is going on if you have beat the expansion to Diablo 2. I suppose in defence of the trailer though, there are very few humans who would have ever known what happened, and since this seems to be transpiring a goodly time after the events of Diablo 2, your actions in previous games are probably already becoming mere legends. Who knows.

I don't have the expansion, only the original version. If I end up loving Diablo II as I remember from 8 years ago, then I'll pick up the expansion. lol

I pre-ordered this game after an extremely convincing argument from my friend.

I've been waiting for this game since they announced it. If the previous 2 are any indication, it should be amazing. I didn't pre-order it, though. I'll just wait a bit longer to buy it when it does come out (I think I heard 2012 Q1? That could change anyway).

Nah, it was "I was online the other day, and I saw you could pre-order Diablo III." I then went and pre-ordered the collector's edition without knowing what it came with since the store we were in at the time didn't have any promo posters.

If Jagex knew that Blizzard was being discussed on these forums, they'd probably remove Tip.It's gold status. :-D

I've been looking forward to this game for a whole decade. I don't know though. It reminds me of the game Gauntlet.

I really hope I can run it. And if I can run it I have to not buy it until after my exams in january.

 

 

Which class are you all going to play? I dislike melee classes in a game like this but I still can't decide between wizard, DH and WD. Leaning towards wizard though, I like the resource system. I hate mana.

It seems like the thing that's held it back a lot is them trying to balance the PvP stuff, but now that they've decided cut out that part from the release (it'll be added in a later patch) they can focus on just fine-tuning everything else which, at this point, is pretty much done.

 

I've been playing the beta, and while I don't like how they've dumbed it down in order to appeal to a wider audience/console players, I'm still preordering the shit out of this. Playing Diablo 2 with my friends back in the day is one of my fondest gaming memories.

Hmm, on play.com it did have an actual date named for March a while back.

 

Oh yes, game retailers love to do that, I guess in an attempt to gradually amp up the amount of pre-orders or something. But when a date is released by the very company that is actually making the game it usually tends to hold a slightly higher degree of legitimacy.
