I was making a joke about how people can't take a joke anymore. Either that's true, or my wording was bad because it was late. Regardless.... the people who come up with these things and the higher up management/investors probably never have contact except for important matters anyway. I HIGHLY doubt that the random JMod who made this little easter egg had anyone influence them at all. People have to remember that most Jagex employees take great pride in this game and the community, and just because the investors seem determined to suck the life out of the game, doesn't mean that the game staff will do it when they're not directly told to. Now, I don't know if this is true, but I heard of JMods quitting over the SoF update. If that's true, it just goes to show that the only thing that has changed in Jagex is the management, not the feeling 'on the floor'.

Made me lol even though I had never seen their sketch before. I just enjoyed the pun.

Back in my day Jagex could put easter eggs into the game and people would laugh. Today, people overanalyze things and make assertions that Jagex is making reference to their undereducated and slightly barbaric userbase. Dang kids these days....

I'm not a kid and I've got quite a few years under my belt. I've been playing rs for a long, long time and hace seen plenty of jagex's Easter eggs and I don't believe it was coincidence they put this one in at a time like this. Now I'm sure you might think so.

We don't need your unwarranted, and frankly what seems to be disparaging responses. Did anyone even call you a child in the first place? It's not going to surprise me if they did though, since you're acting that way, but I digress. Easter Eggs are put in for laughs - for recreation, so why must you assume that they must be for some nefarious purpose, or with some underlying meaning?

 

Because people in this community have a knack for drama. It's the same reason that the same type of people gave honest thought back in 07-08 that Jagex was intentionally "destroying" RuneScape to get people to move over to Stellar Dawn.

Just watched the sketch and must say it's comedic gold. Even though I often feel like I'm missing something as I'm not British, I do enjoy the 'classics' of British comedy.

I'd join in with some Urza bashing but seems enough people have already made fun of his ridiculous conspiracy theories. Lol.

Buy 10 candle

Buy 50 candle

Buy 500 candle

 

And buying 4 candles costs no money and gives you a Fork Handle instead? It still removes 4 candles from stock.

I'd argue that the videos posted had greater utility, thus we are more deserving of the credit.

I'd argue that such a small amount of credit is due it is not worth arguing over.

 

People looking into this small easter egg a little too much, just a small feature similar to things like that tree named after a mod, little interesting but a single post on the pictures sticky could have covered it.

I had posted the working video link first, but he decided to change his link afterwards, so I don't feel it's entirely fair 3Hit gets credited for that.

And Hedgehog posted a wiki article explaining the references long before either of you linked a video, if anyone has reason to feel done out of credit it is Hedgehog, certainly not you.

Reason still stands in terms of credit for explaining the fork handles reference Hedgehog was first by a long shot. The video is not of 'more utility', if anything it is of less as the wiki article explains more than the video did.
