This week’s Behind the Scenes video brings you next week’s update, today!

Carnillean Rising is a quest that you control, as you meet up with some familiar characters and help turn Philipe from a boy into a man.

Discuss the Behind the Scenes video here.

Quest looks interesting, as to the further rewards for higher levelled/higher combat players I wonder what they could possibly be...

>Skill requirements in the low 30s

>Mid level quest

what

Obviously it must have some higher level post quest areas to gain the extra rewards, but with such low stats to do quest makes you wonder how high levelled the top end gear reqs. are?

the chest reward from quest seems pointless, a player made treasure trail in essence, but probably much less complex.

Only you could put such a spin on that, lol.

Mid-level quest, but level 30 skill reqs ... Wasn't A Soul's Bane an easy quest which involved fighting level 50s?

What makes Jagex's quote even more confusing is that fact they say you make him dress up like a girl for one part of the quest...you really must wonder what goes through the heads of these quest developers

Hmm, now that I've actually watched it, it seems very underwhelming. With a name like Carnellian Rising, you'd think it'd be setting up something pretty big (akin to the ritual of resurrection that you assist/foil in Hazeel Cult). Also I don't recall Ceril Carnellian being some snooty noble ... but then again I did that quest years ago.

I don't think we want to know that...

OT: Seems like a great quest. I'm looking forward to it's release :)

Sounds like a story-based quest, could be very fun.

Talking about level 30 as mid-level is just plain stupid though. Even 60s are for the most part not mid-level (maybe agility).

As long as this is a chance to be somewhat creative, rather than being color by numbers, I think I'll be pretty happy with this.

Well, my first thought after hearing about the dress thing was that people lost their bananas over being able to shoo stray dogs, so this should be fantastic. But if we really do have some creative freedom, and the quest can be completed through different means, then this could be really awesome.

I get the feeling that it will be fairly regimented but hopefully, for example, it'll be a bit PoH like so say at point X there is a broken bridge and you can construct a,b,c or d and then at point Y you need decoration and you can use e,f,g or h etc.

I want to see the rewards.

Hope we can get more parts of Carnillean armour, which would look like OG Red Castlewars Armour.

Now watch them either remake the awesome red/blue platebody or completely forget about it :P

I forgot all about that armour, I sided with the cultists and released hazeel, so never got the armour drop, would be interesting to see them complete the set as part of new quest rewards though. Definitely needs a graphical rework though if the rs wiki picture is any bearing of it's current appearence.

If they do decide to complete the armour set, I hope they give a way to get the plate back, as far as I can tell it's only possible to claim during the quest not at a later date. Maybe the dad gives it you? or the boy when he 'becomes a man' at end of quest?

OK just checked there is no way at all to claim the platebody after quest and if you chose to free hazeel, talking to the Carnillieans just results in angry confrontations and killing the cultist leader gives no drops what-so-ever.

First I got all excited. Then when I heard the requirements, I got all :( faced. Still, it'll be nice to head back to Ardougne for more than just Penguin Points. :P

Seriously though, watching the video, this looks pretty remarkable. I LOVE original quests. It's why I grew so attached to quests like WGS, One Piercing Note, RFD, etc. They were so different.
